Another day, another dollar. Actually strike that, I'm broke. I haven't made any $$ in a long time. Actually I haven't been out of the house a lot lately since I got back to FL - for a few reasons:

1) My car decided to screw itself up on the DAY I GOT BACK - great timing. I do love my little Tercel though, but it's getting old. Hopefully it will hold out for a year or two more because as I mentioned before I'm broke.

2) The hurricane decided to hit us so I was looking after my niece and nephew for a few days the week I got back.

3) And then I was really really sick all last week.

Now I just don't have a car, and my mom is at the motel sick with what I had. She went there last night to go to this motel dinner thing with my dad. So yeah, today I did nothing at home. I exercised, did 2 miles from the WATP Express 3 mile - I thought I was going to pass out. Guess it's not a good idea to start off with 2 miles of the more intense workout after being lazy for a few months and then being sick. Hmmm.

I've been watching BBC America a lot. Yay BBC America, I love it. But I have to say thay don't show the greatest stuff - its almost all Changing Rooms and House Rivals and other DIY shows. And just to be pathetic I watch the Weakest Link, yes I know. I recorded "Prime Suspect" on Monday night to see how it was. V. Good - not "Waking the Dead" but good ;)

Pete said something cute a little while ago. He went out for pizza with his friends for his friend's, Kate's, birthday. And he said "it felt weird eating pizza without you." We do love our pizza, and other junk foods. I think one of our hobbies is eating actually, which is okay for him as he is one of those terrible people with a super fast metabolism who never gains weight. But it is CRAP for me, hence the reason why I gained 10 lbs when I was there - 4 of which are gone woohoo.

I was going to post more, but I really can't be bothered.

Hi hi. Not much to report, feeling better finally! Spent all last week being sick - which is annoying. Today I went to the motel, then to the bank to order a new debit/atm card because I lost mine. Hmph. Then my mom and I went to this pizza place and ordered a large steak calzone - mmmmm. The thing was GIGANTIC. I wish I had a camera with me to take a pic of the massive calzone but alas I didn't. We ate about a quarter of it and took the rest back to my dad.

My mom also called my new roommate for me, and left a message on her machine for her to email me - so we'll see if I hear from her. I move into the dorms next Tues and classes start next Weds. Not too excited about it, but at least its something to do to pass the time. I'm taking mostly COM classes, and one English class - ah the life of a double major! I wonder how big my room is - hmmmm. I want to get one of those circular chairs but I dunno if there will be enough room. Being on the 3rd floor it'll probably be a shoebox. Ahhhhhh.

That's about it for now from here. I've been home from England for 2 weeks today - seems like SO much longer. Feeling a bit depressed/lonely/bored - oh well.

Hi blogville

Not too much to report from me recently. I have a cold, yes in August. Last week had to be the longest of my life! I got home on last Monday - and since then I haven't had a good night's sleep, been to the dentist, caught a really bad cold, survived through a hurricane, and have been taking care of my 19 month old niece and nephew. Needless to say I pine for the 6 weeks I had of total nothing-ness, drama-less bliss in England, being normal and enjoying my life. But now my throat hurts so bad I can't swallow without a lot of pain (it was worse until I took medicine,) and my ears feel like they're going to explode with fluid. Lovely.

By the way I got my room assignment and roommate's name and phone number for this year - my roommate is from Texas, and we're on the 3rd floor of the dorms!!! So I'm guessing the room is going to be as small, if not smaller than the one I had last year. But it will be an experience I guess. Next year I WILL have my OWN room if it kills me, seriously. I can't believe how fast time is moving though! In a few months it'll be 2005 and then I can say "I'm getting married next year!" Woohoo. And hopefully we'll set the date early next year so I'll have a more definite time than "May/June."

Today I had to drop my mom off at the doctor's at 8am, so I went to Target and Barnes and Noble until 10am when I had to pick her up again. I saw this book in BN: Getting Personal. The reviews aren't wonderful but it caught my eye. I might treat myself to it sometime, when I have some cash to spare. Oooo, speaking of cash I was pre-approved for another credit card, which I am going to take as it'll be good to build my credit woohoo. Have to be careful with it of course, but as everyone knows I'm as sensible as they come - especially with money!

Well as some of you might know the hurricane changed directions and hit Fort Myers in the south of the state before weakening a bit and heading straight for Orlando and then Daytona. The past 2 days have been very busy and hectic and I am VERY tired. My mom and I went to my sisters yesterday around noon time because she had to go into work at 1pm (she works for the power company, as does her husband) so we were there to watch the twins. We didn't think it would hit us and the worst that would happen would be thunder storms, but then it changed directions. Actually I think our area (central Florida) was lucky because it weakened and the damage is very patchy (some streets are bad and others aren't. Most of the damage is trees that have fallen because of rain and high winds. Some mobile home parks are very damaged, but basically all the counties' mobile home parks were asked to evacuate voluntarily.

My sister's houses still doesn't have power, along with most of the homes in her area. The motel regained power quickly after the winds, and our house also got power back early this afternoon. Pete called me at the motel this morning to make sure I was okay as he heard that the hurricane hit Orlando and Daytona ;) Very sweet of him, especially since he was at his cousins and had to go back home to call me :) Today we have been taking care of the twins and they finally went to bed a few mins ago! They are very hard work! And on top of everything, I have a cold/sinus thing that I got from my mom, who got it from my brother :( Just took some night time cold/flu medicine so I think that's kicking in :)

Going to go to sleep pretty soon! What a long two days!!

And now for some comic relief...

This Land
Just wanted to let everyone know we probably won't be affected a lot by the hurricane, it should be hitting the West coast of the state, and I'm on the East coast (Daytona Beach.) I know a few of my lovely online forum friends were worried (thanks Krissy and Gem) but I'll be fine ;) Just for the record, Pete was also worried until I told him it was hitting the west coast ;)

Hi hi blog world.

Feeling a bit more awake today, though I have been up since 4am again. Yesterday I was pretty tired all day but at 3pm it really hit me and decided to go to sleep for a little while. Normally I only sleep like that for an hour at the most, I woke up again around 4:40pm and got online to tell Pete I was going to go back to sleep. So I went back to sleep and didn't really wake up again until about 4am this morning!!! So I left overall about 11 hours and it was great. Its nearly 3pm and I don't feel that wave of sleepiness so thats good hehe.

I had a dentist appointment today - yipee. I was expecting them to give me a shot of novacain to numb my cavity up to fill it, but my dentist said the needle would hurt more than if they didn't (because the cavity was between two teeth on the top left.) So I was brave and it wasn't too bad. It's a bit sensitive but the assistant person said it would be so that's okay.

Later I'm going to my sister's house to see her and my niece and nephew! It seems like so much longer than 6 weeks since I've seen the babies :)

We got digital cable back so I have BBC America again!!! They're teasing me with the programme "Waking the Dead" being on their website and showing me clips of it for "Mystery Mondays" but it's not actually on their schedule at all :( Stupid BBCA grrr.

Oh and I added a countdown until Christmas on the bottom left menu :) That's about it for now...bye.

Back home and totally messed up on body time versus actual time ie jet lag. Have been up since about 4am...lovely. I posted some pics on my wedding blog of cake ideas and etc.

Sunday, August 08, 2004

I changed the title of my blog because I'm heading home tomorrow :(

Yesterday we had yet another bbq, and today we're having the left overs from that, and then we're having a traditional roast dinner ;) mmmmmm. Lin even asked me what I wanted for pudding (dessert) and so we're having apple crumple mmmm. Then coffee and Guylian seashells I like (as they're in the fridge.) Needless to say I've gained about 10 lbs since I've been here! Ooops! Oh well!

We're going to the shops soon to get some chocolate for me to bring home mmmmmm.

New wedding Blog

I started a wedding blog to keep track of things more easily, I probably won't add more to it until I get home next week. http://julwedding.blogspot.com

A year ago today I left England to go back home :( I'm really glad I have almost an extra week on last year. I wish I could stay longer but I need to get back to get everything organized for college starting up again at the end of the month :( Feels like I just ended summer semester, that ended on June 18th only 10 days before I came here - so I spent most of my summer here which I guess is good :)

Decided to change the template a bit earlier ;) What do you think?

Happy weekend

Yesterday we went to see King Arthur in the cinema :) It was a pretty good film, and we both thought it was really interesting that they told the classic story in a different way etc. We went to Pizza Hut before the cinema and had a yummy stuffed crust hawaiian pizza mmmm. Walking to the nearest bus stop to the cinema we passed Pete's grandparent's house and Pete's granddad was mowing the lawn in front so we stopped and said hello to them ;) I guess since both sets of my grandparents always lived far away it seems really lovely to me to be able to be walking down the street and seeing Pete's like that :)

I think today the new gas BBQ is going to be christened ;) I've counted and I think I've been to something like 8 BBQ's in about 5 weeks hehe.

Time is passing by very fast which is depressing :( Though we're pretty much broke so we won't be doing much the whole of next week so it should pass by slowly :) Then on Monday around noon I fly home :( I'm waiting til I get home to change my blog layout because I know it'll make me depressed if I have to look at it when I'm in FL.

Hi blogging world

Been about a week since I've posted. Hmmmm. On Thursday we went bowling with Pete's friends Dan and Kate. It wasn't as fun as the first time we went with Kate and Carla, because Dan plays a lot so we all sucked compared to him ;) After bowling we went to Chili's for dinner where Pete's friend Nicky and her fiance met up with us. Of course the UK Chili's cramped our party of 6 into a table meant for 4 people so it was interesting trying to eat. Pete and I were both in the middle of two rows of 3 people so it was fun to try to eat our food properly. It was a laugh though.

On Saturday we went around to Pete's grandparents for another BBQ. Good family friends Josie and Pete were there with a set of their grandchildren so that was interesting, but we all had fun with the 3 kids all under of 5 years old ;) Pete was so cute with them and I took pics of him cuddling Aimee and Louis ;) Yesterday Pete's parents went out and bought a really cool gas BBQ so Pete helped Tony set it up and Lin and I watched them, which was entertainment enough.

We went shopping today and NEXT is having their summer sale so I got 2 tops and a present for my friend Sara (I'm not saying what as she might read this ;))

Well that's about it for now, I have to go peg up my towels so they will dry ;)

Very funny quote from the book I got today: "Olivia Joules and the Overactive Imagination" by Helen Fielding...

"She had seen her friends' older sisters, radiant and triumphant, flashing minuscule H. Samuel's solitaires on their engagement fingers, spending months obsessed with dresses, flowers, and event-planning, only to be found a couple of years later in the shopping centre, fat, broke and hassled, pushing prams through the rain, moaning about being hit, or belittled, or left. And she thought: Sod that."

Hi hi.

New blogger formatting fun stuff  Wakka Wakka

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Ours was pretty good, tis the season for BBQ's here in England, so we went to one that Tony's cousin was having on Saturday, and then we had on here yesterday.
                                                Barbeque
On Friday we were going to go to the movies as I said on here, but on Thursday night we were having dinner and talking and Tony wanted to see "The Day After Tomorrow" and I wasn't too interested in seeing it so we decided that Pete and Tony would go. On Friday I felt pretty crappy anyway with cramps so I stayed home and hung out with all the girls who came over for Lin's candle party. It was a lot of fun and Lin and I bonded a bit. She offered to get me a cute little blue elephant candle holder that she was getting as well off her commission from the party, I told her she didn't have to but she persisted hehe.

Then on Saturday at the BBQ we chatted a lot which was nice. When we all got home that night she checked the lottery and she won £450 !

                                                  Lottery

That was very exciting! Yesterday was fun, the couple next door and their little 3 and a 1/2 year old came over as well as Pete's grandparents. Pete was so cute with little Jordan, they ended up crawling in the garden attacking Tony with little suction cup guns. Spinning I'll have to upload the pics of them it was so cute!

Not too much planned this week, I'm cooking dinner I think tomorrow and Weds, as Lin won't be home until late. I'm going to be doing my chicken, ranch dressing, and pasta dish. But Tony doesn't eat pasta so I'll have to make him mash potatoes instead grrr  Dizzy

The dog we're sponsoring, Mojo ;)
Posted by Hello
I forgot to mention that Pete and I got a dog...well kind of ;) Today we started sponsoring Mojo from Dogs Trust. (He's the first one on the left on the 3rd page of dogs to sponsor) Pete's been talking about him all day, he really loves doggies and this is the next best thing to having his own again ;)
Hi hi blogging world.

Haven't posted in awhile :) On Monday we went to the Tower as I said we would. We were debating on waiting until Tuesday as it looked pretty gray but we decided just to go and make the most of it. We got to the Tower Hill underground stop around noon so we decided to get something to eat around there before going into the Tower. We first went to the KFC which is right across from it pretty much but it was really packed. We were going to go to Pizza Express but it really expensive, so we went to a new place called Wrap. I really recommend it if you see one around in London because the wraps are really good and cheap, it was about £7 for both of us.

The Tower of London was great as usual. We did the guided tour with the yeomen, which of course consisted of a lot of Americans, it felt weird to be around them because I felt like some sort of English/American half breed ;) We were there for almost 4 hours then decided to just walk around the area. We came across St. Katharine's Docks across from the Tower, and had Starbucks there. We were going to go to Picadilly and look around the shops but it was getting to rush hour so we thought we should get on the tube back to Liverpool Street. Of course there were more delays due to "incidents" (ie someone hurling themselves in front of the trains.) But we got home just in time for an in door BBQ with Pete's parents and a few of their friends which was a laugh. Forgot to mention that I got my nephew a red double decker bus to roll around in the Tower giftshop ;) We love the Tower so the gift shops were really tempting but we managed not to get anything, but I did get Pete a book on Japanese Armour for £5 in the Tower.

The rest of the week has been pretty quiet, today we went to Basildon to look around at Eastgate (which is a shopping mall pretty much.) They just opened an Asda Supercentre there; Asda is owned by Wal-Mart so it is freakishly bizarre how similar it is to Wal-Mart in there ;) I even found Reese's peanutbutter cups, but Pete didn't find any hershey's kisses or Twizzlers for him :( We did look at the kitchen appliances for when we get our own place and picked out a toaster, kettle, and George Foreman grill we like - going with our black and chrome color theme we have pretty much adopted from our fondue set and other things we have received ;)

Oooo, that reminds me, I forgot to mention that Pete's friend, Kate, got us a Tokoyo dinner set for us for an engagement present :) It has 2 sets of different size oriental style plates, bowls, and mugs ;) I'll have to take some of the set out to take a pic of ;)

Tomorrow we're going to the cinema to see "The Day After Tomorrow" which I'm not too bothered about seeing but Pete wants to see it and nothing else in the movies is any good so we might as well ;)

Sunday, July 11, 2004

Again, not up to much around here. The weather has been pretty crappy, and we're broke so we're trying to make our limited amount of money go as far as possible.

On Thursday we went bowling with Pete's friends, Kate and Carla It was a lot of fun and since we've kept on saying that we have to go again. We went to Hollywood Bowl, and it was really cool; there was a cafe, bar and arcade in there. We played 3 games and Pete won the last one, and I only came in last twice lol. Yeah I suck. ;) On the way home with only place open to eat was KFC so we went in there around 10:45pm and they closed at 11pm so we ate quickly and Kate dropped us off at home.

Today is Pete's mum's birthday and of course they're out at a friend's celebrating

Tomorrow we're going to the Tower of London so that should be great, we've been there twice already and it never gets boring.

Thursday, July 08, 2004

Hello

Been quiet around here :) If you didn't guess, Tony and Lin are Pete's parents :) The pic was taken at Pete's Aunt's BBQ on Saturday. The weather was actually a bit cool and Lin kept on making fun of me for having my coat on when I was outside on the patio ;)

Not too much going on here this week, Pete's parents are in Cornwall for a little holiday :) Yesterday we went to see Shrek 2 in the cinema, we just made the 1:30 show which was good because if we went to a later on we would have gotten caught more in the rain than we did. By the time we got to the highstreet on the bus it was pissing down (lovely slang there). We ran to Somerfield's to get some stuff for dinner, then ran to the taxi station. But we were still soaked anyway.

Shrek 2 was really good! Pete and I both think it's a lot better than the first :) There are a lot of big name actors for the voices, and some British actors in it as well. John Cleese is Princess Fiona's father and Jennifer Saunders is the Fairy Godmother hehe.

Umm that's about it for now on this end, Pete's mum's birthday is Sunday and we got her Sweet Home Alabama on DVD so she should like that :)

Also I put pics up on my msn group if anyone is interested. If your not a member just email me and I will approve you ;)

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY EVERYONE!!!

Romeo and Juliet

Yesterday we went to see Romeo and Juliet. We left the house about 11:45am and got on the train around noon. Good thing we gave ourselves some time to find the Globe again, because we forgot where it was from last summer when we went. We were walking towards Tower Bridge, so we got some pics of us there. Hehe.

We finally found the Globe after having to walk over to the other side of the Thames. By that time I was really thirsty and my feet were really hurting me (because I was stupid and wanted to wear my boots even though I knew my feet would hurt.) So we spent £2 on a glass of orange juice outside the theatre. We had good seats in the first level of the seating area pretty much in the middle. The only complaints we had that people that were seated on the inside of our row were late and the seating is on wooden benches and cramped anyway so we had to get up to let them pass. There was an intermission about half way through the play, as Pete stood to get up a woman in the opposite set of rows next to us tripped and fell down the wooden steps, hitting her head on the wood banister

They found a member of staff for her and we left to get out of the way, which I was happy about because it freaked me out and I felt really bad for her. She went unconscious, and they stupidly moved her before the pharametics arrived; but I guess it would be dangerous for her to stay there with the amount of people that were going to be around. Anyway, the second half was good, and I thought the ending was the best. The cast ended in a clapping dance thing like in A Knight's Tale.

After the play, we went to the gift shop and I got 4 postcards to send out, I took pics of the postcards with my camera to show online because I couldn't take pics inside the theatre. Then we went to Starbucks for some Caramel Macchiatos, and Pete got me a huge Starbucks England mug with Shakespeare on it.

It was around 5:45pm by the time we left Starbucks, so we decided to find a underground station and head home even though it was rush hour in London. It took us a long time to find Cannon Street station which was the one we had got off at to get there. There were delays on the District and Circle Line, which of course were the lines we needed to get back to Liverpool Street. So after a lot of we decided to go on next District line train that went to Algate East, then got the Hammersmith & City line to Liverpool Street. That will make some sense to anyone familiar with the underground system. After we got home, around 7:30pm, we ordered Dominos pizza and chatted with Lin and Tony.

BTW, today is Pete's 26th Birthday

So we're off to a BBQ this afternoon at Pete's Aunt's, which might be a traditional English BBQ indoors as it is suppose to rain later. That's about it for now.

Thursday, July 01, 2004

Hi hi. Busy weekend ahead for us :) Tomorrow we're going to see Romeo and Juliet at Shakespeare's Globe in London. Then Saturday is Pete's birthday, and we're going to a BBQ at his Aunt's which should be fun. Sunday is the final of Euro 2004 ;) So we're having a BBQ if the weather is decent, and having a mini 4th of July celebration hehe.

Yesterday we went to Basildon for some shopping and KFC. Of course I looked around NEXT ;) I was tempted by a few tops but only got one, which I took a pic of and will add sometime soon on here. We also went into the Republic and I got a FCUK top for £7 woohoo. It says: "FCUK Football, What about me?..." hehe. I might show the pic of it I took later sometime.

Anyway thats about it on this end, Pete's grandparents and a few of his friends are coming around tonight so that should be nice :) I'm really having a great time here being all normal and coupley. I can't really explain it but I feel really at home here ;)

Monday, June 28, 2004

Just wanted to post and say that I'm here safe and sound :)

The flight went pretty fast although I didn't sleep at all. The flight arrived early in Gatwick around 6:40am. I was done with immigration and baggage claim within like 20 mins at the most. Bit of a drama finding Pete though, they got caught in traffic but I was a bit worried and ended up calling the house to make sure everything was alright, they weren't there of course; then I called Pete's grandparents' house to try to find out Lin's mobile number but they weren't in. I went back to the Information desk and found Pete, who was talking to a few armed guards; they were doing an anti-terrorism check on him. It freaked me out a bit but they seemed friendly enough and chatted to him about the football drama. But we made it back home and relaxed all day and napped. It's funny I feel like I never left, feel so comfortable here and everyone is commenting on my weight loss which is nice ;) Anyway have to go, watching Eddie Izzard with Pete and then having dinner.

Less than 24 Hours!

Its 5:52pm EST, in less than 24 hours I will be departing from Orlando and making my way to London!!!

I'm really excited, managed to fit everything into my huge suitcase, have my carry-on all packed and etc.

Pete went to the shops today and got me all the stuff I like and miss like Guylian seashells and Apple Tango (he couldn't find Diet Apple Tango in the high street :( ) Anyway lol. He's being so sweet. I can't wait to see him when I get through to the Arrivals area at Gatwick!

Well wish me luck, I'm hoping I get through immigration and customs quickly and get my baggage without being trampled by a lot of sunburnt holiday makers ;) lol.

Okay well then, I'm off as I'll be busy tomorrow so this is my farewell post for now. See you across the pond!

Interesting Documentary.
Posted by Hello

Went to go see that today with my mom. The movie theater that had it playing was the one in back of the mall (for any local ppl). That isn't the best movie theater and it kinda makes sense that it was only showing there and they made a TON from it I'm assuming. The theater it was in was the biggest in the place and it was PACKED. My mom and I were late getting there and got seats in the second to closest row so my neck is a bit achy from that.

Overall, the documentary was very moving. Of course it was propaganda but what isn't anymore? It's hard to describe, but I would recommend it; I'm not saying I agree with the writer/producer but the facts are there. It was very gory in terms of the war and injured people, and I had to close my eyes at times.

That's about it, interesting but controversial of course.

Here is a review from MSN about the movie: Fahrenheit 9/11 Review
I'm excited, can you tell? LOL

Pete requested me looking all excited :)

Jul's Adventures in Packing

Will I be able to fit everything into my one huge suitcase???!!!!

Finally Dawning on me

I'm leaving the day after tomorrow!!!!!!!! Okay I think last night it finally hit me that I'll be seeing Pete again in less than 3 days now, and that I'll be traveling to England. Wow! I'm up early again this morning, I've been going to bed around midnight and getting up around 6am, I guess I'm excited.

Packing is going good, a bit of everything. I always have to pack at least twice: once to get together everything I need into my big suitcase, and then a second time to fit everything I need into the case.

I'll take a picture of how it looks now LOL stuff piled on the suitcase that has to be fit in. I'm not even bringing anything extra, but a 6 weeks worth of clothes for a climate that is undecided this time of year takes up a lot of room.

Some good news on the things to do front, Pete's mum has used air miles she had to get us free admission into the London Eye and the Tower of London!!! We LOVE the Tower, been there about 3 times but it never gets boring!

I linked to my Wellness Journal to the left, thanks to Jennie for the very cute graphic :) I also changed the template on my wellness journal and updated it a bit.

Guess thats about it for now! Oh, went to the mall with my friend Tiffany yesterday, and then we met up with Becca. We went to Hops for lunch where I ate A LOT of food and felt like I was going to explode. Then we went back to the mall and I got a pair of earrings for $3 (regular price $10) and some stuff from Bath and Body Works with a gift card I had :)

Thursday, June 24, 2004

Why is everything so freaking expensive?!

Seriously, I went to Walmart to get some stuff I need for packing - bathroom necessities, underwear, socks, and a DVD case thingy. I spent..wait for it... $50!!!! And I got NOTHING. I bought the bare minimum, all the cheapest stuff, even clearence items!

My big splurge was on a $9 bra which was on clearence. That being said I have ONE white bra and only one, and I wear it almost everyday so I thought I'd might as well get another one after trying to find my size for ages.

I even found a DVD case thing in the clearence section that holds 35 DVDs. For $7.

So how did I spent $50 you ask???!!! Beats the heck outta me! All that cheap stuff adds up too quickly!

My stomach feels weird at the moment but overall I've been feeling better.

People from Essex have been staying at the motel and I finally got to meet them today. They're leaving tomorrow evening back home (shame really that we weren't flying at the same time!) The man works for Boots as a delivery man and he thinks he might be going to the Wickford shop soon so I might see him around there! It was so great to talk to them, made me excited about going over. Everyone is just so nice. I know people say that English people aren't friendly, or that American's are friendlier or whatever, but I've met the nicest people in the world in England. But maybe that just my anglophile self loving everything there so much.

England plays tomorrow in the Euro 2004, good luck!!!!! I'll probably be going to the mall to meet a few of my friends I haven't seen in ages to catch up before I leave! Yay. But I'll be anxious to hear how the match went!

Hmmmm. My weather pixie is in her swimsuit with thunder and lightening in the background, not too smart girl! Welcome to Florida in the summer though! Yes for the past few days it's been very hot, humid, and then around mid-day it starts to partially thunder and lightening, then down pour for little 20 mins spirts on and off all afternoon. Sunshine bloody state.

My mom and brother get back from California at 6am tomorrow. I'm happy about this because I have missed my mom and because I need my bloody suitcases back to pack them! My room looks like a hurricane went through it, stuff all over, waiting to be packed.

Can't wait to see Pete at the airport, and see all his family and stuff. Just to be there again will be cool, and about 30 lbs lighter than last year (but a bit flabby lately as I've been too lazy to exercise!)

I've been in a really weird mood lately, probably period related. Also I have been a bit dizzy and feeling like I'm going to throw up. Lovely. I have also been taking naps - which I never do. Yesterday I got up around 8am then went back to bed at 9:30am and slept until 12:30pm! And today I dozed on the couch for an hour around mid-day. Guess I'm just worn out from cleaning the house and my stupid period. Grrrr.

There has been a pigeon on our back porch for the last two days on and off, today he spent about 5 hours on a palm tree thing my mom got for christmas. I took a polariod of him as I couldn't find the digital camera. Pigeons are weird.

Anyway yeah so thats about all thats up around here for now!

Woohooo I SURVIVED!

Yay speech class is over with! I can't believe I've actually survived it! Some of you don't know why this is such a big accomplishment for me, but those who do will understand the significance of this. It was a class I got worried sick over, cried a lot over, and thought a lot about, but in the end I did it. I'll probably only get a C, and while that somewhat annoys me, the grade isn't important. It's a major step in my life and hopefully it can only get better from here in that area. I'd really like to thank my wonderful fiance for always believeing in me even when I didn't believe in myself. I love you baby and I can't wait to see you in 10 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!

The Redneck is back....

English Redneck has finally blogged again, so I am adding him to my reads. BTW he's my fiance Pete if you didn't know that ;) Again, as always, bloody hilarious, vulgar, but sweet - but I am biased. ;)

In other stuff...

I went to Barnes and Noble after a very healthy lunch at Taco Bell, haha, yeah. Why is everything so freaking expensive there?! I was tempted to get "Olivia Joules" by Helen Fielding, and "To Have and to Hold" (UK title: "Spellbound") by Jane Green. Both are only in hardcovers here though ugh! $25 each, yeah okay, because I'm not broke as it is! But then I went to the WH Smith's website and "Spellbound" is like 3.50 quid! And "Olivia Joules" is coming out in paperback on 2 July. MMMMM I love Smith's!!! Sorry I know, I'm crazy.

My mom and Patrick (brother) have yet to call us from California. Hmph. I checked to see if the plane landed, yup even early so they're (presumably) okay. Then again expecting either of them to take into consideration that we might be worried is laughable so I'm sure they're fine.

I have to come back here tomorrow at 5pm to meet two girls from my speech class I'm doing the debate with...ugh. At least it'll all be over on Friday!

I'm going to go pretend to read info for the debate until 2pm when I told Pete I'd get on. Addicted to the computer, yup, that's me!

In Two Weeks Time....

I will be in ENGLAND!!!! yay!!!!

Wearing my Penalty Spot shirt today to be sarcastic and ironic about the match yesterday lol. Pete was less than pleased I can tell you. If you don't know, England lost to France yesterday in the Euro 2004.

Haven't been doing much around here. Last week of summer classes woohoo. I'm home alone this week as my mom and younger brother are leaving for California today and my dad and youngest brother will be at the motel. So I'm alone with the doggies, but it'll be nice, a bit of alone time. Because as much as I love and miss Pete, he drives me nuts sometimes and him being still unemployed will mean that we'll be together 24/7 which does have its advantages but might drive us both a bit nuts ;) As if we weren't already hehe.

I watched "Mona Lisa Smile" that I got from Blockbuster as a 2 for $10 previously viewed deal. It was a really good movie! I would recommend it to anyone who was thinking about seeing it but hasn't yet. I also finished reading "Straight Talking" by Jane Green, it was pretty good :)Typical Jane Green, very accurate to life but with a happy ending ;)

Almost There!

Half way through my second to last week of summer classes yay! Have my persuasive speech on Thurs - ugh just want to be done with it!

On Saturday I went to church with my great Aunt, then I met my sister at the mall. We went to dinner and then to the mall until I closed (9pm.) It was fun :) During dinner the horse race was on in the bar area and everyone was screaming, we saw that the president came on and were wondering why. Well later that night when I got home I found out that Ronald Reagen died. This was a bit weird as my Aunt was just saying how sick he was earlier in the day (I guess she saw it on the news.)

Well then on Sunday my sister, her hubby, and the babies came to the beach to play. I was video taping them a lot, it didn't seem to hot on the beach but was I wrong! I got BURNT to a KRISP! Especially on my back along where the straps were! Ouch!!! It still hurts!

Umm not much else going on! in less than 20 days I'll be in England! yay!!!!

My mom and brother are going to California on the 14th for 8 days so that should be cool for them :)

Romeo and Juliet

Guess what we're doing on July 2nd ? Going to see Romeo and Juliet at Shakespeare's Globe in London!!! yay!!!

Stuff

On Weds I went to Payless and ended up getting two pairs of sandals. One are more dressy to wear with my black dress that Pete got me when he was here. I needed something I could walk in if needed. So I got these. And I also really liked these. And they were having a buy one get one half off on their sandals so I got both pairs for like $20 :)

I was suppose to do something with my sister yesterday afternoon, but her husband hurt his back and had to be taken to the hospital :( He's okay now, in pain but okay, I don't think its serious. So we might do something tomorrow evening.

I got stuck in the rain today and am now FREEZING in the air conditioned library with soggy socks and sneakers/trainers lol. Brrrrr.

Good day

Today has been a good day :)

My speech went well, so that is a big load off my back. Only one more major speech to go and I'm done! Wow. If you don't know why its such a big deal it just is ;)

My uncle's gf has been making an attempt to be pleasant, I think she's just like me, not very social. Which sometimes comes off as being b*tchy and rude (not that I am of course!) Anyway she was cleaning out her old clothes and gave me some cute skirts :) A demin one, a white one with a pink floral print, and a black one with a blue floral print. I'm in a skirt phase I guess :) I'm wearing the demin one now, its lightweight, frayed around the edges, and comes to about the knee. Its nearly 2 sizes too big, but it fits pretty good. I think I might make another button hole so that I'm not so paranoid about it falling down, but my hips are holding it up lol. The other two skirts are extra-large size but with the elastic they fit good :)

Anyway after class I rewarded myself by going to KFC and getting a Twister combo. Hmph, another place in St.Aug I know not to go to. Its not that it was bad, but the twister wrap thing was hard (old), the chicken was hard (old, and not warm), the dressing on it was very minimal, the lettuce wasn't the freshest it could be, and I guess you can't screw up a tomato without having a rotten one. Why is every place around here so crap? Taco Bell is decent but not clean. Anyway then I went to Target, I got a book "Straight Talking" by Jane Green and little metalic tags that say: "Wedding", "Engagement," "Love," "Cake", "Bouquet", and maybe something else - to use in my engagement scrapbook (which I wanna get finished with by the time I go to England) and the wedding scrapbook I have gotten (which I won't be starting for some time ie after the wedding!) I got the tags as the Target here had better stuff in that department than the one near my house. Anyway off to chat with Pete :)

Dresses - Round 2

Well I downloaded Hello onto my uncle's PC here at the motel. Wow its really easy to download pics now yay - well on a pc anyway, hopefully Hello will come out with a version for macs!

The pic below is of the dress I put on hold last weekend. I'm not getting it as of yet, I still want to look around a lot more. I put a few more pics of it on my msn group so you can go there to view more if your a member :) If not, you can apply to join here but I have to know you before I will approve you ;)

Also got a new swim suit for like $20 yesterday! The "suggest retail price" was like $72!!! Got it at Sam's Club, which is a warehouse shopping center, similar to Costco's or BJ's if you're familiar with those.

Thats about it, not doing much, was working today. Need the $$$ so thats good.

Speaking of money, Pete did something very sweet. He asked his parents if we could get tickets for Romeo and Juliet for his birthday! :) We didn't know if we were going to be able to go otherwise because of the low finances being job-less and poor as we are hehe. So yay! I think he's going to call them up about when there are seats available this week :)

Guess what I did yesterday?! Hehehe.  Posted by Hello

A Month Cannot Pass Fast Enough!

Well the only good aspect of today is that a month from now, in about an hour, I will be boarding my lovely Virgin Atlantic Flight to London!!!! And a month from tomorrow I will see Pete at the airport (if immigration doesn't hold me hostage again.)

Weird thing for today: This morning I was driving to school, those who don't know I drive an hour each way for my summer classes. Well there I was, about 1/4 way through my nearly daily journey when I pass two police officers who were in front of a restraunt talking. They both looked at me as I passed them in my little '92 Toyota Tercel. So I checked my speed, wasn't speeding. I though "hmph that's strange!" So I keep driving, I saw them get into their car as soon as I passed so I knew I was going to get stopped. So the sirens come on, I pull over into the next parking lot. There are TWO cop cars kinda blocking me in. Ooookay. This really friendly police officer says good morning as he approaches, I say hi. He then looks in my car, and says...."Sorry, but when you passed I thought I saw a BABY IN YOUR LAP WHILE YOU WERE DRIVING. Sorry about that, have a good day. Drive safe." WTF ????!!!!!!! Very Bizarre!

Other than that today has been crap, enough said.

Dresses Galore!!

Wedding dresses that is! God, just two years ago I was with my dear and wonderful friends in high school going shopping for prom dresses, and in another two years I will be getting married!!!

It was a very exhausting day considering we only went to two bridal shops and I tried on a total of about 6 dresses I think. Getting into the dress and getting all the underwear on is hard work!

First I picked out a few dresses that were similar to one I saw and I liked in a magazine. (Maggie Sottero "Felicity.") But they just didn't fit me properly, I didn't feel like a bride in them. The last dress I tried on by chance in the first shop; my mom just picked it off the sales rack to let me try on something different. It was very traditional, reminded me of 4 Weddings and a Funeral and all the traditional wedding dresses you see, with the beaded bodice, chapel train I believe, and sleeves that were pretty short (kind of like cap sleeves but a bit longer - if that makes sense.) It fit me really well and was the most flattering from the first store. We put it on hold until next weekend (the longest they would hold it as it was on sale :( )

We found another shop and I tried on two dresses in there. The first was nice but didn't fit properly and the straps on it were a bit dodgy (I don't think it originally had straps and they just had just sewn them on, they were very thin spaghetti straps. The second was very WOW. Silver and white. The bodice was all silver beading with sleeves that were close between thick beaded straps and cap sleeves. The skirt was very poofy - I think it was tulle (sp?) with silver embroidery all through it and the hem of it was silver beading in a similar pattern to the neckline. The neckline was kind of a sweetheart neckline (which was similar to the good fitting one in the other store.) I liked it, felt very glamourous, but it might have been a bit too much for me.

I'm really exhausted. Couldn't take any pictures, I brought my digital camera but the batteries in it were dead, even though I thought they were charged!! ARGH.

Going back to try on the dress from the first shop next weekend so will take pics of it then, even though I probably won't get it. I don't want to get something too soon and then change my mind completely!!

Life is a Highway...

For the past two weeks and two days I have been driving an hour each way to college. I like driving, there's no thinking involved. My little gray/silver colored 1992 Toyota Tercel just moves along, avoiding road kill and colliding with yellow school buses. Got out of class early today, feel sleepy, want coffee but too lazy to get it lol. Such is my life. Random quizzes:

Birthday Stuff

I realized I forgot to tell you what I received for my birthday!

Well Pete got me this very nice top from FCUK - tease cami. He got it in "raven" as on our comps it looked black, but it turned out to be a dark grey color. It's still very lovely, he has very good taste for dressing me! That being said he also got me this t-shirt from FCUK - Penalty Spot LOL. I have yet to pluck of the courage to wear it around here, as I think it's more of a English humor thing and people might think I'm a slut if I wear it here LOL. He also got me Love Actually on DVD ;) I LOVE that movie to death!!! And a lovely Me-to-You bear Fiancee card ;) (Thanks again baby!)

My parents already got me my new (used - but in great condition) lovely Powerbook G4. My dad also sneakily put $100 in my bank account and told me not to tell my mom!!! ;) I love my daddy lol.

My sister and her hubby got me some new Nike trainers/sneakers (I don't remeber the actual name so I can't link to them) and a yellow top from the GAP (which I can't find on their site.)

My uncle and his gf, who was very rude at the birthday/mother's day party, are going to get me a new battery for my computer, eventually.

I got a very nice card from my cousin Jessica, and from my friend Becca who I haven't seen in person in AGES. Also I got lovely ecards from my cuz and Gem (thanks!)

Plus money from my great Aunt and my Grandma. Which reminds me, I have to deposit her check today!

My friend Sara got me a very cool wooden wind chime and a cute glass smiley face candle holder thing, that holds a tea light and the light from the candle reflects onto the glass making the smile glow :) Thanks!

All in all a very nice birthday, and I'm happy to finally be 20!

New Template

Since blogger messed up my old one I thought I'd try a new one :) I really like it, it's simple. Not sure how much crap I will be adding to it to make more complex.

I have to work on my Graphic Design projects so I shouldn't try to add to the template now. I'll add my comments back though so everyone can say how much they like the new template ;)

Hmmmmmm

Something happened to my template :( It suddenly decided to delete like half of the contents of the right menu :(

I don't suppose there is anything I can do to fix it - maybe it'll reappear ?????

Long time

Wow I haven't blogged properly in a long time !

Some exciting stuff that has been happening in my life: my great Aunt, who is also my godmother has offered to pay for my wedding dress!!!!! Which is a pretty big deal! I have yet to try any on though so hopefully will be able to do that soon.

Also I got my grades from last semester in school back yesterday in the mail! I got.... 4 A's and a B!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I thought I totally slacked off!!!

Also tomorrow is my BIRTHDAY for anyone who doesn't know. I'm staying over my sister's tonight to babysit my niece and nephew, and then she's having a party for me at her house tomorrow. I have yet to get my birthday package from Pete :( Argh. I almost never get anything from him on time for anything so its not like I'm not use to it, but it sucks!

Other than that not much is going on, summer classes are going okay. I only have 2 but I have a 5 hour break in between them so that makes the day drag on since its an hour away from my house.

Finished "Jemima J." It was pretty good. I am now reading "Farm Fatale" by Wendy Holden which I have yet to put up on the right side.

Have a good weekend and Happy Mother's Day to all Moms!!
