Hi hi. Like the changes?! Jennie got me in a purple mood so here it is. I'm happy with it, its something different. I'll try to get the zonkboard up soon but I should be doing actual work instead of mucking around with my blog.

Parking here sucks. Truly it does. You will not know unless/until you experience it for yourself. Around 11am I decided to go to Walmart (bad move!) I had spent 30 minutes on Sunday night trying to find a parking spot and finally did in this bit of sandy crappy dirt in back of the guys dorms. I was in walmart a total of like 20 mins, I got back to campus like less than an hour after I left and there were NO SPOTS. All the 'campus parking' was taken, as was all of the nearby metered spots. So I finally found one in a parking lot with meters in back of the Lightner Museum. Good thing I had a few quarters on me! I had to go back there at 2:30 and put another few quarters in, then finally at 5:45 I went and tried to move my car. I went around all the parking lots once, and was about to go again when someone pulled out of the one behind the guy's dorm - so I pulled right in. I'm never moving it again! Or at least not until Friday afternoon - then coming back earlier on Sunday so I can actually get a 'decent' spot. Anyway my roommate said she was 'going out' tonight. I guess with her boyfriend of a year - who goes to this school. Weird thing is I haven't seen a picture of him in the dorm nor have I met him yet. He's probably really ugly. hehe. My roommate is okay, she's just kinda strange. Oh well, best be off and do something kinda productive!
I'm back.

My blog is so boring. I don't even like any of the new templates (since blogger improved) so I dunno what I'll do. Just feel like a change. Might just pick a template or see what I can find online. I have no time though, I actually shouldn't even be on here, have a test at 8am so I better study. Ugh 8am classes suck and I have them 2 -3 days a week. Grrr. Well we'll see how long I keep this template up!

Oooo fun stuff

Have had a rather full day today :) Got up early and went to the motel where I painted the bases of the tables outside, and took some pics for my Mass Media Production class. Then I got changed and met my friend, Sara, at Super Target. We looked around a bit but neither of us saw anything we really wanted/need. We got frappacinos in the Starbucks bit in there ;) Mmmmm caramel frapp my fav! We also saw one of our old teachers from HS but avoided him as he's a bit weird lol. After that we decided to go and see a movie but we didn't know what was playing so we went to the one closest but all the movies were crap so we went to the next closest one and saw Pirates of the Caribbean. It was sooo good (better than I thought it would be and really funny in some bits.) Actually we had to wait an hour to see it so we looked around the shops in the shopping center there. After the movie we stopped off at PetSmart for something Sara needed for one of her dogs and then we decided to go to Steak n' Shake for dinner. Mmmmm so good. So yeah I cheated a bit on Atkins today but it was worth it ;)

That reminds me I weighed myself this morning and I have lost about 4 lbs this week - bringing my total up to 12 lbs in a little less than a month - yay me. Anyway chatting with Pete now and he's being all quiet so I'm getting worried - best be off!

Ooo too cool. If anyone is watching "While You Were Out" on TLC right now the mother who doesn't know about the room makeover is in St. Augustine for the weekend and on a carriage ride they passed Flagler College woohoo. Was weird seeing it on tv ;) Well off to watch the rest of the show. That reminds me I added pics of my dorm to my MSN group...if you're a member go check them out - the descriptions aren't written up yet but you can get the general idea I think ;)

Just looking at different people's names close to me - its amazing how right some of the things are! Here is what they say about Pete's name

Your first name of Peter creates individuality, independence, self-confidence, initiative, and an inclination to physical activity. You are not inclined to merge your opinions and viewpoints with others, to accept compromise, or to work in a subservient position against your will. Your expression is invariably quite direct and candid, and lacks the moderating tone of tact, diplomacy, and friendliness. Others find it difficult to accept your domineering and, at times, argumentative manner. Your circle of friends is restricted to those of like nature. Once friendship is established, you are very loyal and steadfast and do not tolerate gossip or criticism. In your close associations and family life, there is little demonstration of sentiment, appreciation, sympathy, or encouragement. It is difficult for you to find the right words for such circumstances.

Hmmm I would agree with everything except the domineering and arguementative manner and the lack of moderating tone of tact. Interesting!
What's in a Name?

(Side note - my 8am two hour communications lab was cancelled so I'm wasting time!)

Just went to check out the Friday Five for today. The last question sent me to this link, Kabalarian. This is what it had to say about my Name:

Your name of Julia has given you a practical, efficient, and capable nature, with a desire to participate in business ventures. Able to see how the details of a situation fit into the overall picture, you have good judgment regarding anything of a practical or technical nature. You are efficient, and capable of carrying a lot of responsibility, but your nature is so serious that personal association suffers. You demand as much from others as you do from yourself. It is difficult for you to merge your nature with others to create understanding, or to show love and tenderness to those close to you. You experience much misunderstanding and unhappiness in your personal life as a result.

Health weaknesses for my name:

Julia

Tension would affect the stomach and intestinal tract, and you could suffer with constipation, growths, or serious female disorders.

Hmmm interesting. Somewhat true - except for the showing love to people close to me and suffering misunderstanding and unhappiness in my person life! As for the health wekness...ummm pretty gross - don't want to think about those!

Well I guess I should do the FRIDAY FIVE now since I already mentioned it!

1. Is the name you have now the same name that's on your birth certificate? If not, what's changed?

Yup my name is the same as it was on my birth certificate. My confirmation name is Hannah but its not legal (unless I start using it - which would make my name way to long!) Full name: Julia Marie

2. If you could change your name (first, middle and/or last), what would it be?

Well no I wouldn't change my name, I really like it. I will probably change my last name when Pete and I get married, unless I want it hyphenated but I think it'll make it to long. Hmmm.

3. Why were you named what you were? (Is there a story behind it? Who specifically was responsible for naming you?)

My dad is responsible for naming me, he named me after his maternal grandmother. My mom wanted to name me Hannah after her maternal grandmother who was Irish (came here in around 1920?)

4. Are there any names you really hate or love? What are they and why?

Names I love for girls: Hannah, Chelsea, Isabella, Audrey (Pete doesn't like that one)

Names I love for boys: Michael and Ian

Names I hate: Camilla, Agnes, Hilda (anything that sounds old lady-ish) Don't really hate a lot of guys names - or at least I can't think of any at the moment ;)

5. Is the analysis of your name at kabalarians.com accurate? How or how isn't it?

See above!

~~~~~~Oooooo HAPPY 20th BIRTHDAY TO SARA! ~~~~~~~~
I'm not going to talk about two years ago - what's the point? Really I don't mean to seem harsh or anything. (Sara you know me and we think alike so you know what I mean!) Last night the Candle Light Vigil was nice and then I went to a play in the Auditorium entitled "The Guys" about the Firefighters and etc.
Woo hoo welcome to high speed paradise! Okay not really - my comp is crap so how ever fast the internet gets my comp will slow it down! Ooo blogger had added spell check woohoo.
Well its somebody's birthday tomorrow...well in about an hour and 20 mins actually. Ooo and speaking of 20... hahahaha.
I have been slacking about blogging about what I eat, but I have been keeping track of it on paper so that's good :) Going to weigh myself on Saturday morning I guess - wish me luck!! I think I've done pretty good this week! Hmmm I could say more about today but maybe I'll save it for the weekend - lost of dorm stuff to vent about! hehe.
Would I get a British Passport ? I got 6 out of 10 but totally guessed on a few. The kettle one didn't make sense to me, but whatever hehe. I would get Pete to do it and see how he did but he's away with his job tonight so we're not chatting :( Oh well I'll probably tell him to take it tomorrow ;) Not much going on today. Think I got my roommate into Walk Away the Pounds..she did the one and two mile today ;) I've done the 3 mile for the past two nights in a row and will probably do it tonight. I smell food, or maybe I'm imagining it because I'm hungry!
Oh and by the way it wouldn't even help if Pete were here to do the DIY stuff because we're both clueless and hopeless and would probably be on the phone to our parents asking how to do thing. Yes we're sad ;) Theres a candle light vigil tonight in memory to tomorrow - think thats enough said. Will probably go to it, as I did last year and it was nice. Going to dinner with rommie in about 15 mins so must dash!
Jul's Daft DIY Disasters
Yes this is a new section dedicated to my total inability to put anything together properly. For the past week I've been trying to get my dorm set up...alright you say how bad can that be ? For someone with no hand-eye co-ordination and multitude of electronics to hook up - it can be very bad indeed. The easy stuff went first - phone and computer (easy enough as they are simple to set up and the comp is even color coded.) Then on Sunday night I brought my DVD player (another easy score - color coded simplicity.) Then comes trama. I had to get a network PCI card to install into my computer (because even though its only 2 years old its a piece of crap and doesn't have one in it.) So I got that on Sunday. After a few trials I got the cover to the computer off, pushed the card thingy in, and then i had to hook up a little wire to a connection thing. The wire has a little connecter thing which is literally the size of my pinky finger nail, actually smaller...and again I have NO HAND EYE CO-ORDINATION. So I haven't been able to fit the little wire into its little place, thus the reason I am still on AOL. Grrr. Alright gets better still... I got an antenna for my TV, it didn't come with directions to hook up, but it seemed pretty easy, just hook one end of the wire to the back to the TV and the other to the antenna muck around with it a bit and maybe I'll have something to watch.Umm no. Theres this little adaptor thing that I can't find a place to put...and the antenna gets nothing but static. Fast forward to a few minutes ago...I try to put together a little shelve thingy for my bathroom. I screw the main structure together, put the baskets where they're suppose to go..all I have to do is put the wheels on. Can I do that ? Nooo I try to push them in there, the 'instructions' (ie the backside of the little picture indicates that the wheels should click in...but they don't! So here I sit, with a half put together computer, a non-working antenna, and a shelve thingy with no wheels. I give up! My mom's coming up on Thurs maybe she can help me. I'm so daft!
Morning
Yes I'm alive. Actually I haven't been on the internet much lately - are you shocked ?! You should be! My internet connection through the school isn't hooked up yet - technical problems with my comp grrr. So to get on I gotta to the library - and when I get on there I usually just chat with Pete, blog hop a bit and then get off. Hmmm not much going on, just classes. I have no classes the rest of the day, only work for an hour at 3pm...so I should be reading the many chapters in various classes I have to but am I ? Of course not! Back on track with my walking and Atkins...must update my Wellness Journal for today - maybe in a few mins or later when I got the library (at the moment I'm on crappy AOL.)
Talked to Pete on the phone yesterday afternoon/evening. The AIM Express on the library comps weren't working and my comp was unplugged and I didn't feel like plugging it back in and getting on AOL so I just used the rest of my phone card (all 15 mins of it for an international call!) So we talked and then he phoned my back ;) I have to say I haven't laughed so hard in a long time, probably since I've back here since I left England. Most of the laughing was because Pete was doing an impression of his parents and stuff. At one point I couldn't even breathe I was laughing so hard ;) Awww I miss him ;) Looks like he will be booking the flight to come for Xmas at the end of the month! Yay!!! He will probably booking one off of Ebookers connecting somewhere in the US and then coming to Orlando (as those are like nearly half the price of a direct one!) Anyway my friend Sara's (Starbuck's) 20th Bday is on Friday!! WOoo hoo. We don't have anything planned for the weekend but she *should* be coming back to NSB so maybe we can arrange something ? (*Hint* Sara!) Well I'm hungry and I could go down to lunch, maybe around noon...should go read! Might post later!
Cleaning....
I spent about 3 hours cleaning all the outside doors, walls, windows, and chairs of the motel. I stink like cleaning stuff, I'm wet, and my fingers are all wrinkly. Remember I said I'd give you all a link to the poster I got at Walmart for $3 well here it is!! Its soo cute huh?! I wanna take pics to show my dorm of soon ;) Or at least my half of it hehe.
Chatting with Pete at the moment and talking about our relationship ;) Its so funny we can't even remember life without each other anymore we've been together so long hehe. We've also pretty much grown up together since we met so young. The other day my roommate asked me what my "fiance' did for work" LOL It was so funny to hear him addressed as that! I think thats the first person who actually referred to him as that directly ;) Anyway gotta make some errands today and get some stuff I need at Walmart and Radio Shack and etc. I'm hungry! Anyway thats about it for now. Bye!
At the moment I'm busy downloading off LimeWire. For some reason I thought to look for the Bud Light radio commercials "Real men of Genius' or 'Real American Heros." Pete loves them so I'm going to make him a CD ;) Some of them won't download but others just take awhile or a few tries. Anyway hope everyone has a good weekend!
Happy Friday!
My first 3 days of classes done with, back at home now. Yes, I come home most weekends, a lot of people think I should stay there because I am not getting the full *college experience* hmmmm but weekends around my college are dead. If you wanna party (which I don't) you have to go either an hour north or an hour south (where I call home.) So I come home. Yesterday was a pretty easy day class wise, I had two psych classes back to back and was done by 11:30am. Then I ended up going to lunch with my suitmate from last year and my current roommate. After that I went to the library to chat with Pete (as I have to get a thing for my free internet access which I haven't gotten yet.) I had work from 3 - 4:30, then did some reading and went to dinner with my roommate. Then we went to walmart. The walmart in St Aug is pretty ghetto, its one of those old walmarts that was converted to a 'super center.' So they have nothing really. I got a cute poster which I have a link to and might actually do the html to show it later. I wanted to get another rug for the bathroom to match the one I already paid for myself (as there was nothing in the bathroom and I had to decorate it!) But my roommate didn't want to chip in the $10 for it, but rather ask our suitemates if they wanted to split it 4 ways. I might just end up buying it myself, I hate dealing with people! I know ppl aren't made of money but she's going to using it isn't she?
Anyway after getting back from walmart I thought I saw my former roomie (one with psych now ex-fiance') getting out of her car with her current boyfriend. Anyway last night was club night, where all the school clubs try to recruit ppl, well I was going to go down there anyway to sign up for a few clubs. And the idea of bragging about the engagement to her tempted me more hehe. So I went down there a walked around a little bit and finally found her. I tapped her on the shoulder and said hello, she greeted me with a really exaggerated 'hey!' and a hug. Ummm ok. She asked me how I was and I said alright, and then I said 'and I'm engaged' and showed her my ring. She gave a really exaggerated excited yell...if you have ever seen 'My Best Friend's Wedding' think Cameron Diaz when she finds out Julia Roberts character is engaged. Thats what it was like, then she told her roommate and her boyfriend lol it was really funny ;) Had been waiting for that for nearly 3 month! haha. Gotta love bragging!
Anyway today I had a Mass Media Production lab at 8am, then work for 45 mins. I had to leave to go to a class I wanted to get into. I'm glad I got there early and stuff, cause I ended up getting in even though I wasn't on the waiting list because the ppl on the waiting list didn't show up. yay! I probably could have waited to take it til next semester or next fall but I wanted to get in it and get it over with. So then I dropped the Intro to Visual Art class I was in because I didn't need it and was going to be a lot of crap to read on top of my other courses.
Wednesday Whatevers
1. In your opinion what was the best summer movie this year?
Ummm gotta admit I haven't seen a lot of movies this summer :( I saw Anger Management when I was in England and that was really good - though it came out in the spring here I think.
2. Do you believe in the New Agey stuff like tarot cards and Ouija Board?
I use to think maybe I did but I don't now. Its all too coinicidental and silly.
3. What do you regret most?
Don't think I'm old enough to regret anything ;) Maybe not being too social (hence blogging lol)
Free Pizza, Heachache and Boredom
Ooo Dominos was giving out free pizza in the breezeway around lunch time! I had to break Atkins but I only had a little piece and threw away the crust...so its not that bad right ?! Dominos has weird pizzas - like the Philly Cheese Steak pizza and the Cheeseburger pizza or something like that. But unlike UK Dominos, they don't have Texas BBQ!! Why does the Dominos in England have a yummy bbq pizza named after a US state, when the US doesn't have it ???!! What's up with that ??!! Grr!
I'm trying to figure out what classes I wanna keep and what I wanna try to drop, and what I wanna pick up in place of it. Which gave me a headache earlier, and has only dulled since then. Guess I shouldn't be online with it but I'm bored. I thought my roomie and I were getting off to a good start last night - being chatty and such. And now today she is all dramatic about changing her major and needs 'time alone' to think. So I haven't seen her much of the day - only going in and out. My roomie from last year said I should come by and visit her and her roomie, which I became kinda friendly with last year, but I think it would be a little desperate to go up there tonight after they just made the offer today. My old roomie is in my Brit Lit class, which should be fun, as we got along alright last year. She said she saw our other old roomie, Laura, today but didn't really come face to face with her so she didn't say hi or anything. I wanna see Laura around just to tell her about the engagement hehe ;) As you may remember she was engaged to a psycho guy for about 4 months or so haha. Anyway headache increasing, might do some reading for classes. Have a 8am and 9:30 class tomorrow! Two psychs in a row! I kinda have made that my minor, as if I need one! English and Communications Major, Psychology minor = Lifetime in school. Ugh.
New Second Impressions
In my tiny dorm in Flagler College. I have everything unpacked, various posters up. I have listened to the same mixed cd I made last night 3 times, I'm bored. My roommate had a Dr appt at around 2pm and never came back hmmm. I'm on AOL as I don't have a cord long enough to reach the network for high-speed. I know I won't be bored starting tomorrow when classes begin and I start up work again in the mailroom, but right now I'm bored out of my head. I forgot my PSP 7 disk at home so I can't even mess around on that. Ooo taking Mass Media Producton so it looks like I should learn some of Adobe yay! On the diet front I had Subway for lunch with my mom, dad and brother so today was a waste, and I didn't bring my dvd player up yet so I can't do my walking - oh well. I ate very little yesterday so that will even it out I suppose. I think they had a cook-out in the breezeway but I'm not hungry and have no one to go with. Sharing a bathroom with the room next door and not really meeting them is a bit weird, I bought cute little mirror/shower sticker things and a bathmat to match, I should ask them for money for it - maybe later.
Ooo I saw one of my roommate from last year, Megan, while walking around. I told her about Pete and I getting engaged hehe she was all excited and said congrats so that was nice ;) I would tell you about my roommate but I really haven't had a chance to talk much to her, she sounded really nice and cool on the phone but in person she's kinda whiny which sucks, she kept complaining about the room over and over again grrrr. Like I can't see that its small! Anyway I got the big closet and she got the bed next to the window, she got the mirror and mantal of the fireplace (they don't work so don't get all excited - dorm used to be a hotel in the late 1800's) and I, the corkboard. An even exchange I guess. I saw Jennie on MSN but she conveniently but her *away* thingy on hehe sneaky. That reminds me earlier I got online to see if Pete was on, it was our usual time to chat. So I see his AIM name online so I say hey (with a ton of xxx's) and then go on to say that I'm at the dorm and my roommate never came back. And then his name replies, and it was actually his dad! hehe. oops. I guess his comp automatically signs AIM on and since Pete used Tony's when his wasn't working it looked as though he was on hehe. Good thing I didn't say anything too mushy lol would get made fun of for ages for that lol. Well better go and do nothing. Might walk to the library just to get out of the room.
Packing...
I'm like a nomad, seems like I'm always either packing or unpacking. Less than a month ago I unpacked from spending a month and a week in England, now I'm packing to move into my dorm at college. I'm excited about tomorrow, mostly because I'm getting away from here. Things have become unbearable today but I won't get into it here. I feel tired and emotionally drained. I dunno what to do anymore or what not to do. Tomorrow has to be better, nothing can be much worse than today.
6 Years
Wow it's been six years since Diana, Princess of Wales, died in a car crash in Paris. At the time I was 13 and a bit obsessed about the whole thing lol. E! Entertainment Television is having a row of True Hollywood Stories and etc on her...might watch one tonight - not that it'll be any different from what I already know from tons of books and shows and stuff. To be honest it was pretty stupid of them to leave the hotel, but whatever. Anyway having a BBQ today at my sister's hehe. Eating a yucky morning start breakfast bar to curb my hunger til later.
Evening
I weighed myself today, I was suppose to wait til Monday but with the holiday and tomorrow going to a BBQ at my sister's and there being cake there (for my uncle's gf's birthday) I decided to weigh myself today and not count tomorrow. I lost 3 lbs this week! yay! Total of 8 lbs now, I'm suppose to increase my net carbs by 5 per week now until I get to 40 grams then stop and do that until I'm close to my goal weight (which is about 30 lbs lighter than what I was originally.) So I'm not doing bad, I have cheated a little though. I think if I continue to mangage my carb intake (which is getting easier) and continue exercising I should at least maintain this weight and maybe lose a bit more.
I never seem to know who sings songs on the radio. I didn't know Daniel Bedingfield sang "Gotta Get Through This" or "If You're Not the One" Hmmmm. He has an interesting voice. Just downloaded those two songs from LimeWire. Anyway emotional family drama today. Ended up calling Pete and not really talking too much. Anyway going to get off here and watch 4 Weddings and a Funeral on the TV station Oxygen for the 100th time - its just not the same with all the curse words edited ugh lol.
Saturday, August 30, 2003
Evening
What happened today ? Not a lot. I did 3 miles of WATP for Abs, showered, got dressed, watched tv, cleaned a bit, tried to find my dorm stuff to no avail. Tried an Atkins breakfast bar for breakfast - it was alright, pretty filling. Later I made Atkins brownies, I was only suppose to have one but I've had like 3 small ones throughout the day lol. Opps. Jennie has inspired me to make a few new banners and re-do the graphics on my index page for my homepage to a fall theme, the cottage is a bit off center so I have to go back and fix that but Pagebuilder was messing up earlier at the motel. Wanted to redo some more graphics as well, since cute colors is closing its club as of Dec 31st so I have to use up and download all the sets I like :) Notice the link to my homepage on right - quilt square by Graphic Garden who has always had really cute linkware stuff ;) Pete and I have decided for the moment to try to get 'romantic' things for each other for our 5th anny... thanks to Jennie I think I am going to get him something personalized - which I can't show here for obvious reasons. Ooo the new season of What to Wear (rip off of BBC version) is starting on TLC tonight so I'll watch that and maybe read my book thats due back to the library on Tues., "Bad Heir Day" hehe.
Friday Five
1. Are you going to school this year ?
Yup. I move into the dorms on Tues and classes start on Weds
2. If yes, where are you going (high school, college etc.) If no, when did you graduate?
I'm starting my second year of college - woohoo almost to the half way mark!
3. What are/were your favorite school subjects?
English/Communications classes I guess since its my major, more specificially British Lit and etc.
4. What are/were your least favorite school subjects?
Math! Last semester I took the last math class I will ever have to take in my life! yay!
5. Have you ever had a favorite teacher? Why was he/she a favorite?
Ummm in my HS there were so weird teachers and some good ones....don't think I could pick a favorite. Some let us watch X-Files all day, and some played hockey with balled up pieces of paper, some taught us goggle songs, and some made us sing happy birthday. Ah Lopez days, I don't miss them but there were some fun times!
Oooo We've been Engaged for 2 Months!
Just realized while looking at Jennie's blog, that Pete and I have been engaged for 2 months today! yay! I've gotten use to wearing my engagement ring, and I don't sit and stare at it as much anymore - but I really like how it gets sparkly in the sun ;) I was thinking today how undramatic Pete's proposal was hehe, no big plan or trip, no huge sign saying "Will you marry me?" etc. Maybe its because we talked about it so much, even before we met in person (which I think is a bit weird now.) Besides Pete would never get down on his knee in front of a whole crowd or anything and I wouldn't want him to lol I don't like ppl staring at me call me paranoid or something, I just like to blend in. Thing is the proposal was so surreal and I was so giggly and girly that I really don't actually remember if he was on his knees or just just standing by the bed when he asked me. Anyway it seems so much longer ago than 2 months and not that long ago - as everything does in an LDR. Ugh.
Went to the health food store and got a *few* Atkins brand things which are low carbs. I say a few because for what I got it was really expensive! $32!!! I got Atkins pancake mix, brownie mix, 2 'chocolate and peanutbutter' snack bars, a pack of torilla shells for wraps and such, and 2 boxes of morning start breakfast bars! The 'chocolate' was crap - ate one thing of it and a piece of the other. Been dying for pancakes so I might make those tomorrow for breakfast, and maybe the brownies tomorrow or for my sister's on Sunday. I can't find half of the stuff for my dorm I brought home last year :( Its probably hidden under a bunch of crap in the garage or maybe even the attic. Ummm what else has happened today ? Not too much..Pete's on his own for the weekend as his parents went away for the weekend with the Aussies who are staying with them ;) So he really wishes I was there. Wanna work on the engagement scrap book more, maybe do that tonight - use up the Me to You stickers Pete got me when I was in the UK last Dec/Jan. Anyone have any ideas what I could do for Pete for our 5th Anniversary of being a couple ? I'm at a loss for ideas as we've given each other everything basically lol. Well bye for now!
Morning
Feel blah and sleepy. I was watching a wedding story on TLC and got into a wedding-like mood so I thought I'd take out my prom dress from junior year of HS. It was the dress I got but didn't end up wearing, as it was too formal for the prom. Its a white dress with a ribed corset like top and the bottom poofs out. It doesn't fit me anymore either which sucks, my goal is to fit back into it. Anyway thats not that bad part, I took it out of its plastic and there are yellow dots on the back and a bit of the front of it :( So I'm upset about that, might be some aging or something. Its been in plastic for over 2 years so that might have a lot to do with it, my mom is going to see if it can be cleaned. I kinda want it as my wedding dress as its really lovely and as it was a prom dress it was less expensive than a lot of wedding dresses will be, think it was about $200. Anyway see how that goes :( Not much else to report on, dieting going alright today - had to celery sticks and peanut butter for breakfast ugh. My mom found a health food store that carries a lot of Atkins brand food so I might go there today and get some stuff.
Hello!
In a good mood at the moment :) I just got a little leaflet from my college about Student Updates and such! Looks like we will be getting free high speed internet access in the dorm rooms yay! No more AOL and paying for it! Which means I'll have to get a free email account somewhere...where is the best ? Ooo my friend Sara now has a LiveJournal all about her and etc, will get her permission before I link it here though! She's a hoot! Anyway I'm well chuffed about the internet access (ok I said chuffed, turning english...help me please ;))
Went to the mall today with my sister :) She wanted to have a sisters day out and buy me a outfit for school yay! I ended up getting a black top with an abstract looking plaid design on it in pink and white and black stretchy comfy but really nice looking trousers/pants, also got a necklace to go with it :) Then I got myself a bag for my school books in The Gap, it was orginially $40 marked down to $20 :) Then we went to Hops for lunch, it wasn't great and they didn't give us any of their yummy bread - which I can't have anyway but still! Anyway thats about it for now, might be back later if the urge strikes!
New haircut, same me.
Got a haircut today! Woohoo! Okay not really, its basically the same as what I got the last time I went to get it cut...I like it I might actually keep up with it and go every 6 weeks like you're suppose to, well lets see if I have time for that.
Ugh it seems to be getting hotter and hotter EVERYDAY and I live in Florida so I guess I should be glad I have a pool (at my parents motel) and the ocean to cool off in. Its nearly Sept with no sign of Fall, even though FL really doesn't have many seasons... just hot, not so hot, or 'cold' which isn't really cold. Thank god for AC!
Pete has two Aussie's staying with his parents for a month, they were friends of Pete's uncle who lived in Austrialia who died in July. Tony was really excited about them coming so I hope they have a good time. Pete said to his mum they're becoming an international hotel with all the different ppl that stay there hehe. Very generous people my future in-law's gotta love 'em! Anyway getting off the comp as the AC doesn't reach this area and I'm about to die of the heat!
Just got off the phone with my new roomie she sounds nice, I really should organize what I am bringing as I am moving in ONE WEEK! Where has the time gone ? Guess most of it was spent in the UK. I sent a text to SARA if you read this girl, whats up ?! Anyway ta-ta going to go see if I can find my dorm stuff somewhere in this mess of a house!
Evening
Listening to: Cold Play - The Scientist
Awwww Pete was so cute today on the phone :) I called him after we met online, after his dad got off the phone. I really miss being with him, but Xmas is coming up just around the corner and soon the flight will be booked and the next countdown will begin yay! Anyway the cute bit about Pete, he said he missed me so much this weekend (he was away with his fam for his granddad's 70th Bday and we had no online contact) and that it showed him how much he loved me and how much I mean to him :) Its hard to imagine that once upon a time we only chatted online over the weekend and would email during the week, doubt if we could do that anymore!
I was thinking about him doing a course over here at the local community college and staying in my room while I was at school during the week in St. Aug, the only thing is for international students the government or someone requires them to have $20,000 per year for expenses so that they aren't poor and living on the streets etc. Which I can understand...but how would Pete get that much $$$ ? Especially without repaying it for years (as I will be). Grrr so if it does happen that won't be til a year from now if he can get that arranged. In a way it just seems easier to wait til I'm out of college for him to come here and we can get married, but even then I won't have any money which scares me. Hmph. Well I've turned a short little post into a long ramble! My roomie is calling me back at 9pm, as I called her around 6:30pm and she was just going out for a few hours. She sounds really nice :) Feel a bit blah - might be PMSy or something. Nighty night.
Wedding Cakes ...
Alright so I shouldn't be looking at this stuff, as Pete and I probably won't be getting married for another 3 years, but... while I was at the grocery store I picked up a leaflet about their wedding cakes mmmmm. I know English wedding cakes are fruit cakes I believe, Pete's mum makes them and she mentioned to me when I was over there thats what they were, I also found this site about English Wedding Traditions that I bookmarked. Call me odd but I don't think I have ever had fruit cake, so I dunno how that tastes really. Anyway I know what kind of cake I want hehe I have to make sure Pete likes it but I think he does has he a piece of it while he was here for the first time I think... I want a cheesecake with cream cheese icing and raspberry filling! Doesn't that sound incredible rich and yummy ?!
Anyway I know I'm crazy hehe. Ooo Pete said he should be able to book the flight for him to come here for Xmas around late Sept yay! So I shall have to look at flight prices and find the best deal! Though he will probably want a direct flight which should be pretty inexpensive for xmas time, they only really jump up in the summer. Going to phone my new roomie later, gunna go check if she emailed me back ;)
Just went to the store and weighed myself - I have lost 5 lbs since last Monday! Yay! Ooo also happy that Pete is home and we are chatting online :) He emailed me on my phone and then I tried to call him but the scary call waiting lady came on! Brrr! Anyway happy me!
Hi hi. Busy day today. We had 5 check outs at the motel, but we got done with them all in about 3 hours which is really good. Also my new roommate for my dorm in college called while I was at the motel, so I'm happy about that. From what my mom has said she sounds really nice :) I emailed her and said I would try to give her a call tomorrow evening - even though I don't like calling people I don't already know but hopefully it'll be alright. Tomorrow Pete comes home from being away for the weekend, yay! He said he would email me when he got in and maybe call me, so I'm excited to talk to him again seems like ages since we chatted!! Tomorrow is also a week since I started the Atkins Diet and weigh in day, which I will do at the grocery store as they have a proper scale which is way more accurate than me little crappy one (the one I have is about 15 lbs heavier! Whats up with that ?) My brother is watching Sliding Doors, one of my favs so I'm watching it too, though as I've seen in about 500 times I know it by heart but the ending still pisses me off!! Anyone who has seen it will know what I mean!! Anyway going to bed soon, probably when Slidings Doors is over hehe ;)
Some things never change...
Its amazing how the smallest things never seem to change no matter how much time goes by. For example, in my early teens I was very much interested in the Royal Family of Great Britain - yes okay you can call me a freak lol, okay the major reason was I had a huge crush on Prince William, again you can laugh. Anyway has anyone noticed the latest edition of Vanity Fair magazine ? Guess who is on the cover? Yes Prince William - looking amazingly attractive! Anyway I was in the grocery store yesterday and had to get the magazine, yes I spent $4.50 just to see 2 really good pics of Prince William hehe. Theres a whole section in it on Royal Families in Europe so I'll read that when I feel in the mood. But the mere action of buying the mag sent me back about 6 years hehe. Also last night my mom and I watched Little Women, the 1994 version, which we have seen 100+ times and it just felt like old times to me and it was really fun. The kettle corn popcorn was really good too ;) For 12 carbs it had to be! Anyway just rambling, very lost without Pete around this weekend - hope he's having a good time ;)
Friday Five
1. When was the last time you laughed?
Hmmm really laughed a lot or just a little ? A little - probably today. A lot - yesterday on the phone with Pete when he did an impression of me ;)
2. Who was the last person you had an arguement with?
I guess my mom.
3. Who was the last person you emailed ?
My boss at my work study job at college but I guess I got his email address wrong bc it came back grrr
4. When was the last time you bathed ?
As in had an actually bath ? Or just cleaned/showered ? I had a shower this morning. The last time I had a bath was before I went to England I suppose I don't really remember.
5. What was the last thing you ate ?
Hmmmm think a celery stick with peanut butter on it.. yummy! Having popcorn soon with a movie ;)
Feeling better today
Feeling a lot better today, think its because I had protein for breakfast, well I had bacon so can't be too healthy but it was GOOD. I've been snacking a bit on swedish fish candy which isn't good but I just had a salad with low carb dressing mmmm. Ooo I got Pete a present today - it was something I saw at Clinton Cards in the UK for 15 GBP but I got it here in a drugstore for $10! Yay me. I might try to find a link to it...it has secret meaning to us which I guess you could figure out if you wanted to hehe let me try to find a link. Anyway I'm saying it on here has I know Pete won't be online til Monday and doesn't really read this anyway ;) ahhh too lazy to do the HTML and I forgot this is a Mac so it won't let me drag and drop it into blogger so if you wanna see go to http://www.incrediblegifts.com/anbebegahada.html :)
Argh
My stomach feels about to explode, I guess I blame the meatballs I ate earlier - I was starving and getting dizzy and avoided the temptation of a entamen's raspberry danish and instead had the only 'protein' product I could find in the freezer - the meatballs. Later I had an apple, which I am technically not allowed to have but I did anyway as I needed energy. I've had a fever pretty much all day and have been dizzy and tired, alright now as I took some cheapo wanna be advil. Atkins Diet sucks @$$ dunno if I am going to stop it or not. My mom told me to on the phone earlier but that was because she didn't want to stop and get my something to eat on the way home and I can't eat what we have here - all carbs! ARGH Why is it that it was her idea and a whole 4 days later she wants me to stop because she's sick of putting up with me ???? Tho it was suppose to be for me, 'I'm only thinking of you' she said etc etc. GRRRR Kill me now! To make matters worse I can't even complain to Pete this weekend as he is going away with his family for his Granddad's 70th Birthday! Happy Birthday Mick! (Even though he doesn't read this!) So I'm all on my lonesome internet wise and all my friends are preparing to go back to school. I have until Sept 3rd. Right now I just wanna relax, might watch a movie or read a book I got at the library on Monday or just go to bed early as I have NO ENERGY and no CAR even if I wanted to go anywhere or go get Food. Car is at my mom's friend's cause she asked if i would let her drive it home as soon as I woke up so I said ALRIGHT - stupid sleepy me. Anyway I'm off!
Ugh feel crappy
Yesterday I went with my mom and a friend of hers that often says at the motel to Orlando to look at furniture. We got lost a few times but we eventually got where we were going. I have to say I kinda cheated on my diet yesterday, around noon I'd been out with my mom for an hour or so and started feeling dizzy so my mom stopped by Wendy's and got me chili. The Wendy's website says there are 23 grams of carbs in a small chili but doesn't show the fiber so I might not have cheated that bad, though for lunch/dinner we stopped at a 50's style diner and I had a vanilla milkshake so I ended up cheating anyway! I dunno how much longer I'll stay on Atkins, as it takes me a long time to get up in the morning and I feel groggy for a few hours after that :( I dunno where or not I'm going to exercise today, I didn't have time to yesterday but I feel really crappy at the moment. May just lay down and see how I feel later.
Nothing much to report on lately - just my dieting (which you can see on my wellness journal)
*hint* hehe. Eating two celery sticks at the moment - as I'm not hungry enough for lunch as I ate breakfast late but feel like I need something. Did 3 miles on WATP for Abs, then showered and got dressed and here I am. Less than 2 weeks til I move back into my dorm (might be a few days earlier if my boss at my work study job at college needs me and gets me permission to move in earlier.) I think I have most of my stuff I need, have to find my stuff from last year - has to be somewhere around here maybe in the garage or my closet. Need to get my hair cut might make an appointment for that today. Might go to Walmart to look around and maybe get my parents CHICAGO on DVD - they wanted to see it in the theatre (the play) but the seats were all sold out :( So maybe I'll get them that and they can watch it tonight or something. Made Yorkshire Puddings again last night - they turned out a bit heavier/more eggy than last time - so I haven't totally perfected them but I'm sure I will do eventually. Just relaxing today as I worked all day yesterday in the blazing heat, at least I'm getting back my tan I lost in England hehe (actually I got sun burnt my last day there so I can't really say that!) Thats about it for now! Hope everyone had a good weekend and is having a good week so far!
when harry met sally
Everyone remembers the 'faked-orgasm-in-the-deli'
sequence from your kind of movie When Harry Met Sally.
It seems that you're falling for a buddy
or have already fallen for them.Uh-oh. You're
probably caught between the possibilty of
having a great relationship and wrecking the
one you have now. You know what they say, it's
better to regret something you did than
something you didn't do.
What Romance Movie Best Represents Your Love Life?
brought to you by Quizilla
Feeling alright today. Going to my sister's later to see the babies and have a little BBQ. Tomorrow I will *try* to start the Atkin's Diet - see how that goes!! Pete and I are alright now ;) Wow today its 2 weeks from the time I left England and it seems at least like 2 months! I really hate that. Some of my clothes still smell like his laudry detergent - I love that smell! Anyway best be off!
Ugh pissed off.
Pete was suppose to send me the shirt I bought for my friend Sara for her 20th Birthday, I left it there by accident when I was packing and he said he'd send it last weekend. He didn't get to the post office in time last Saturday so I was alright with that, he said he would send it this weekend. So I reminded him last night on the phone about it, did he send it this morning ? Of course not! Why ? He forgot !!! He said he woke up and his mum was talking to him about his grandparents' birthdays next weekend and he didn't remember about sending the shirt until after the post office was shut. Of course he then went to his friends and met me on there. He was being all lovey dovey - now I know why. He said he was sorry and made a little sad face but COME ON !!! You might think I'm over-reacting but he always seems to forget things or not have time to do things for me and it pisses me off. Anyway after he told me about that this morning I just said I had to go and I didn't want to fight about it so I would talk to him later online. I'll get over it but not right now. Men are stupid.
Friday Five (www.fridayfive.org)
1. How much time do you spend online each day ?
Oh wow let me see. During the week I chat with Pete from 3pm til 5:30pm so at least 2 and a half hours, thats if I haven't been on earlier in the morning. Usually as soon as I wake up I go online - really bad habit that I'm sure will stop when school starts up again and I have actual stuff to do with my life! On weekends I chat with Pete from 8am until about 10am and then later in the afternoon about 4pm to about 7pm usually. On average I spend about 5 hours online a day on the weekends and 2.5 a day on the weekdays - well thats the time I spend chatting with Pete - the rest like blogging is more. I waste my freaking life on here!!!
2. What is your browser homepage set to ?
The Earthlink homepage thing.
3. Do you use any instant messaging programs? If so, which one(s) ?
I use AIM on this computer and then on my personal comp when its connected to the internet (hasn't been since April) I have AIM and MSN but I usually just have AIM on.
4. Where was your first webpage located?
Geocities, one of those blah template things where you just enter your info in and a few pics.
5. How long have you had your current website ?
Ummm I started blogging about a year ago I guess a little less than that, I've had this blog since my other one kinda got messed up in early April I think. I've had my homepage (www.geocities.com/princessjuls02) for about a year or so I guess.
Feel bleh/depressed. Talked to Pete on the phone earlier, I felt like calling him so I did. I started crying because just hearing his voice made me remember what it was like to be with him (it hasn't even been 2 weeks and it feels like an eternity since I was with him), and it just sucks. I'm sick of being in and LDR I think 5 bloody years is enough!!! I want to be freaking normal ! AH!!! Don't mind me just going quietly insane. Went to Blockbuster and got a previously viewed DVD for $12, "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" shall comment on how it is tomorrow or something. Haven't walked yet today - I should do to keep on track but I don't feel like it - want to just eat crap and sleep. Grrrr.
Friday, August 15, 2003
Morning. Here at the motel wasting time until my dad and I can clean - yay my life is so exciting huh ?! I might have found out why I can't seem to lose any weight even when I do my walking everday (I am starting to do that again but didn't do it yesterday as I was busy and then when I got home I was too sore from the night before.) Anyway the reason might be the medication I take for my speech impediment - its actually an anti-depressant but it helps with my speech as well. I think thats it because I was reading in a book my mom got me about the Atkin's Diet (actually I think Pete's mum has the same book as she has lost weight on it), it says that some anti-depressants (it named the one I'm on) slow down or prevent weight loss and might even cause ppl to gain weight. I told this to my mom this morning and she asked on of her friends about it who was also on the same medication and she said it caused her to gain weight. So I'm not just really stupid and don't know how to exercise! Woo hoo at least I feel better now! Anyway might have to go to the DR and tell him about this stuff and see what else I could do for medication. Ugh I hate doctors though! Well thats about it for now.
Hi. Just got back from spending the day hanging out with my friends hehe. We met at the mall and then walked around there for a few hours, of course bumping various old class mates including two girls that graduated with us - I got to show of my engagement ring some more which is always fun! Then we went to the Outback for my third engagement dinner (I'm telling you if your not engaged you bloody well should do as you get great cards, nice gifts, and go out to eat with all your family and friends.) Our friend Becca was able to meet us there and have dinner with us which is great as I haven't seen her since last November! I did forget her bday though oops it was earlier this month! Ah! I shall have to send her an ecard later! Anyway then Becca had to go and we went to Barnes and Noble where I looked through various wedding magazines and books, including one I wanna get for Pete "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Being a Groom" or something hehe. We then headed next door to Best Buy where I saw The Second Season of Felicity on DVD which I really want! (Pete will probably get it for me either for our anny in Nov or Xmas hehe) Then we ended up going to Pet Smart and looking at some fishies and I saw something else I wanna get for Pete but I didn't get it as I will probably forget I have it by Christmas! It was a really good time and it was so good to see them! I officially asked them to be my bridesmaids (not that I have any other friends anyway hehe) so they were like "sure yeah!" Anyway thats about it for now - didn't get to chat with Pete today as I was out :( I miss him grrr.
Oooo I am back to walking away my pounds - my butt aches so bad though as I did 2 miles last night before showering and going to bed! Ouch! I should do at least another 2 tonight but I dunno if I can take it with the achiness! Might just wait til tomorrow morning and do 3 - guess I shall see!! Ta-ta for now!
Wednesday, August 13, 2003
Hi. I have a headache :( Today I got up at like 5am to go with my mom to my sister's house to watch my niece, she was home from daycare with a fever, while my sister and her husband went to her operation (cosmetic surgery.) So I'm tired! Might be the reason for the really bad headache. So I'm drinking Welch's White Grape and Raspberry Juice which is really good! I had some in England while I was there - though I don't think it was white grape but regular grape.
Jennie was saying how Americans can't understand her R's hehe I remember me not not understanding when English ppl say R's - shall have to take notice of it more when I am on the phone with Pete. I forget how he sounds really - as I haven't talk to him on the phone since I've been home. Its only been about a week in a half but it feels like AGES. Grrrr. Anyway getting off here and chatting with Pete for awhile ;)
My Yorkshire Puddings
This is a pic of my yorkshire puds from last night ;) They were a bit burnt on the top but I did leave them in longer than was called for because the rest of the dinner wan't ready...will try again maybe tonight hehe.
Monday, August 11, 2003
Ah the Scent of Yorkshire Puddings Baking...
So this morning I got in the mood to cook, and then in the mood for yorkshire puddings so I found a really simply recipe online and printed it out and ta-da my yorkshires are backing - yummy! Okay so I only had enough batter to make 6 as the muffin pans I used were 'giant' ones which I didn't know until I was pouring the batter in them! I told Pete I'd have to tell him how they turn out tomorrow - as he loves them (so do I!) And his mum said that if he was moving here then I'd definitely have to know how to make them ;) So I shall have to impress Lin if I am successful tonight! I shall know in 25 mins - ooo just sneaked a peak - they are all puffy!!! ;)
Morning Darling Ones. Hmph whats new ?! Yesterday I went with my mom and one of her friends shopping, and we ended up going to lunch for my 'engagement dinner' hehe. Gotta love this engagement stuff! Presents, cards, dinners, money - its like having a birthday for an extended period of time! Anyway we went to this new place in a nearby town (NSB for Sara and Tiff who know where that it) called 'the garlic.' Obviously as the name of the place says they LOVE garlic! They have this bread that you get and with it comes a whole clove of garlic that you mash up and add pepper, balsanic vinegar and olive oil to and dip the bread in it - yummy! Anyway the food was good when we eventually got it. First they didn't have what my mom and her friend ordered, then they didn't have the side item they wanted, and then when I got my chicken it wasn't cooked! And for those of you who know I got food poisoning from uncooked chicken 2 years ago in England so I'm a bit crazy when it comes to that. Anyway my chicken stuffed with cream cheese, goat cheese and spinach was really good. Then we went to a few other stores...they just opened a Super Target near by! YES you heard me right!! So we went there but didn't get to explore too much as it was getting late, I'll have to go there again and get me some Starbucks yay! But in there I got a scrapbook and silver press on letters, I think I'm getting into scrapbooking, as my mom has this whole scrapbook kit that she never uses so she gave it to me so I will try that out soon and hopefully not suck too badly at it ;) Also I got a little rug for my dorm room - bright yellow with colorful circles, and a metal free standing shelve thing for the bathroom in the dorm. Did I tell you I saw my dorm last Weds ? Wow its tiny! I gotta get in touch with my roommate soon and see who is doing and bring what - hopefully I'll get DSL in the dorm or my own phone line so I don't have to limit my online time - as you all know that was a big topic last year with my roomies. Anyway best be off for now! ta-ta.
Sunday, August 10, 2003
Evening. Ooo today I got a surprise bargain which is the best kind in my opinion! I stopped into Payless while my mom was in another store in this shopping plaza, I was looking for sandals for the rest of the summer and into autumn (which really doesn't exist in FL too much.) After some looking I found a cute pair that fit pretty good, they're brown leather sandals without backs to them - they were $12.99 which I thought was a pretty good price at that moment. So I went up to the register and the woman there rang them up and guess what the total came to... something like $4.26!!! What the heck ??!! I dunno how it happened either - but that was the only pair of that sandal that I saw in a few different size areas so I guess it was the last of a sale item that wasn't marked! Yippee.
Wow in November Pete and I will be a couple for 5 years!! Where did the time go ? I have no idea! And for those of you who don't know yes I was 14 when we met. Actually we don't remember when exactly we met online but we think it was around late Oct or early November and we started becoming interested in each other romantically mid November or so we think. All we know is early December my house caught on fire and we didn't have any contact which each other for a month so it had to be about mid Nov. Anyway I have been looking online for romantic/personalized pressies for him...I have a few ideas but I can't really post them here as he might see them ;) Wow I feel really old and pathetic that we have been together nearly 5 years now but I'm only 19 so I guess I'm not! I have to remind myself of my age a lot! I know I'm weird. Anyway best be off here - eyes are hurting! Need new glasses!
License plate!
Morning! Wooo hoo I actually slept through the night. Okay so the jet lag isn't finished but tylenol PM really helps ;) Alright I know I shouldn't take it unless I have pain and need to sleep but needing to sleep is enough of a pain! Besides I only took one so its not that bad. Hehehe. I'm glad I slept and I don't have that 'I can't sleep cause of jetlag headache' yay. I wanna do something fun today like something with my friends, but of course we never know Tiff's schedule so I need to call Sara later and see! There are some good movies out like American Wedding (3rd movie sequel thing to American Pie.) and Johnny English (with Rowan Atkins! Mr Bean!!) hehe. I think Sara would go for either but I dunno about Tiff! We shall see!!
My cute fiance
Awww v. cute picture of Pete ;)
Friday Five - Traveling
1. Where was the last place you traveled to, outside your own home state/country?
I traveled to England on June 27th (got there on the 28th) and just got home this past Sunday (actually early Monday morning.)
2. What is the most bizarre/unusual thing that's ever happened to you while traveling?
Ummm I saw Mr. T (the boxer guy) in the St. Louis airport while I was waiting for my connection to London. I took pics of him (they're on my MSN group if anyone wishes to see them and is a member hehe.)
3. If you could take off to anywhere, money and time being no object, where would you go?
I would probably go to Ireland with Pete ;)
4. Do you prefer traveling by plane, train or car ?
Plane I guess. Seems to be the quickest unless you get delayed grr.
5. What's the next place on your list to visit?
Ummm I wanna go to Ireland with Pete sometime. I think my family is thinking about going to Pennsylvania the day or so after Christmas to visit my uncle and his family. Other than that I'll probably be off to England next summer if not before then to visit - see what happens ;)
Left-handed Love Story
Pete and I are both left handed, which is pretty cool if I do say so myself ;) So for curiousities sake I was looking up left-handed websites and such hehe. Famous lefthanded couples: Nicole Kidman & Tom Cruise, Bruce Willis and Demi Moore. (Okay so both couples are divorced - hope that doesn't say something about lefthanded couples hehe.) Other lefthanded famous people: Prince William, President George Bush (senior I guess), President Bill Clinton, and lots more! I also found out lefthanded people don't usually live as long as right handed ppl and are more prone to disease and illness :( Oh well I will think its cool! Lefties rule! hehe
Thursday, August 07, 2003
Found this quiz (http://www.innergeek.us/geek.html) on Sarah's blog hehe.
I am 4.33925% which means I'm a Poser! I suspect Pete will be more of a geek as he is into games and such so I shall get him to take it when I chat with him! Funny how one of the questions said if you had dated someone online or married someone online ;) Which means I am and know lots of geeks!
Okay Pete is 5.71992% and is also a Poser hehe.
Some Daily Zen (I need all I can get!)
Friday August 1st
"Where is the farthest place that you have ever traveled? How did you get there? Would you go back?"
Ummm hard to say what is the furthest because I could say that Essex, England is the furthest I have gone from my current home. But then when I was in England we went to Amsterdam which would be the farthest from my home in Florida but since I had been in England it wasn't very far from there. HMPH. I got to England on planes and I got to Amsterdam on a ferry and a coach for 10 hours! UGH! I will definitely go back to England (probably next summer.) But I doubt if we will back to Amsterdam unless we had at least a weekend there and could fly there and had a lot of money to stay at all the best places.
My nephew!
Awww v. cute pic of my nephew ;)
Sleep Deprivation - Day 4
Here I am up at the crack of dawn again!!! Actually my clock in my room said it was about 1am when I woke up, so I thought I only slept about 3 hours but then I came in here and the oven clock says 6:40am Ugh. I'm sure the time change is much harder to get use to here, can't really explain why - I just know I don't have trouble sleeping, though I might just go to bed early when I'm there and get used to get that way. Anyway. I've been on a comfort food kick - I guess battling the depression demons in my head. I really have to start my WATP again soon. I only got 13 miles done while I was in England, but then again Pete and I walked A LOT, especially when we went to places like London and Amsterdam. I've been looking at wedding sites and such, totally making myself crazy as I know we're not getting married until I'm out of college probably. Anyway today my mom and I are going to St. Augustine, where my college is, to make sure all the financial aid stuff is taken care of. Oh and guess what I found out yesterday ??? My sister is getting a boob job next week! I won't go into how stupid I think it is - but whatever - I'm sure she knows I would feel this way and therefore didn't tell me about it. UGH. Anyway I'm going to try to go back to sleep for a few hours! Wish me luck!
My Engagement Ring!
Good Afternoon hehe. I went back to bed this morning from about 10am until like 1pm so I feel good - just got out of the shower so feel all refreshed hehe. Still haven't unpacked - oops. I took a pic of my engagement ring and messed around with it in PSP while I was at Pete's - so that is the end result. I have to get in touch with my new roommate soon - this year I'll only be sharing with one other person so it'll be totally different from sharing a room with 2 girls and a bathroom and living room with another 3 - less space though ugh.
Morning. I'm sleeping later and later which is good - stupid jetlag grrr. I went to bed at like 9pm last night as my body was thinking it was 2am and now I am up at nearly 7am because I think its noon. Yesterday my mom, brother, and I went to my sister's to see my niece and nephew. I hadn't seen them since a little before I left for England, and they have gotten so big!!! Hehe I told my niece I would set her up with Pete's parents friend's grandson, Oliver, who's nearly one hehe okay so I'm arranging a marriage for them hehe. I took some really cute pics that I may add to my msn group sometimes - maybe not. I have been thinking of opening a second group for my family photos only and keeping my current one for pics of Pete and I. I have been using an old photo album that we haven't used to make a scrap book of all the engagement cards we got, and movies stubs and such from this last trip hehe. Overall I think I'm getting adjusted to being back here in FL, and in the US in general, it seems like ages since I left the UK - ugh. I miss Pete so much - so all I want is for Xmas to arrive really soon hehe. I already have a few ideas on xmas presents for him, and I want to find a place online that sells Christmas crackers because I don't think you can bring them in your luggage anymore from the UK and if you do you have to take the cracking thing out - which defeats the whole purpose hehe. I also want to try to make Yorkshire puddings mmmm hehe.
You can go Home Again...
And I have - obviously. Yesterday we work up at about 7:30am (GMT) and took showers and got ready to go to the airport. Pete and I played another game of badmitton (sp?) before breakfast was ready. Funny how I wanted an english breakfast so much and finally got one the day I was leaving hehe. Anyway we left the house at about 9:45am. We got to the airport and waited about 45mins in the very long check-in queue for American Airlines. They had to ask my security questions and then I checked in (this is where chaos struck). Then we walked around a bit and I got Cadbury chocolate for my mom and some little bits to bring on the plane. A little before 1pm I went through the departures gate thing, wavy to Pete and his mum. I cried a little off and on all that day and the days coming up to it. Pete started getting all teary just as I was about to leave and I had to hit him to make him stop because it would only make my crying worse hehe. ;)
The flight from London to St. Louis was alright - long and boring. I arrived in St.Louis at about 5pm (CST). Then I went through to immigration, and was suppose to collect my baggage and then go through customs...but guess what ?! My big black duffle wheely bag wasn't there! :( So I talked to the airline person around and she said to tell them in Orlando when I got there. So then I went through Customs, there was a long line of people coming through so they wanted make some go through a Secondary Inspection and I was one of them - hmph. So after that I went into another queue for another security inspection before I got to go to the Gate area. I got to the gate area at about 6:15pm (CST). So I called my dad and told him I was there and I'd call him later when I was about to board. My plane was scheduled to leave at 7:47pm, first I checked the thing and it said 8:15 and then the next time it said 8:50pm! UGH ! I got some bits and pieces to snack on including some advil for my very bad headache :( I called my mom a bit before we were about to board, so she could get ready to leave for the airport. I finally boarded at about 8:30pm (CST), I really don't remember too much of the flight as by then I was dosing off from exhaustion - but it was only a little under 2 hours long so that wasn't bad. At midnight (EST) we arrived in Orlando yay! I went down to the baggage claim (not because I had any to claim - as we think its still in London - but to meet my parents.) I walked around a bit and didn't seem them so I thought I'd look about side in the part where the cars pull up...I walked a bit and saw a van that looked liked my mom's, and then she kinda jumped out of it hehe. They were actually just going to check the screen to see what time I was coming in as they called AA and they said it was suppose to come in at about 12:20 hehe. So then my mom went to the baggage desk with me and the guy said "well if its not here its probably in London, especially if you didn't pick it up in St.Louis" - Ummmm DUH!!! So he took down my info and gave us a number to call if it doesn't get delivered here today - luckily all my valuable stuff was in my carry-on but I still want my baggage!! Ugh I think next time I'll pay more and go direct on Virgin Atlantic again - I've never had these problems with them! Anyway I'm coping well being back home - guess it helps that I know Pete didn't have anymore paid holiday time so if I stayed longer I'd be in the house all day or walking down to the shops and such - basically bored out of my mind. Well best get off here. Hope everyone had a good weekend hehe. On Saturday Pete's family had a BBQ and set up the badmitton net and Pete and I played 4 or 5 times and he won all the times grrr so we played before I left yesterday and I won!! yay!! I will add pics to my MSN Groups soon! Bye!
Blogger Buggered ?
Why isn't the post I posted this morning showing up on my blog but does show up on my blogger thing ? Also Jennie's blog is only showeing Monday's post (or maybe its just Pete's comp) hmph. If your in the UK doen't go ot the Outback Steakhouse - we just got back from there. It was more expensive than the one in the US and the food wasn't up to standard - most of it wasn't cooked properly :( My Alice Springs Chicken was good though ;) We went with Pete's parents and grandparents - then to his gp's for coffee. We got an engagement present from them, chinese style soup bowls and rice bowls I think. Hehe Pete's dad and I were doing a duet of Savage Garden songs on the way home ;) Anyway night!
Bridezillas ?
Pete and I were watching a programme about Bridezillas on the Discovery Channel on Wed's night. Haha. Then I found this through Erin's site hehe...
Another Great Site
Ooo Pete found a funny site in one of his Xbox Mags... shall add it to my fav stupid links such as GreatBoyfriends.com. This new one is Bitter Single Guy.com hahaha. Ah we're watching an FBI Files thing that was in FL and the guy who raped and murdered 3 women (a mom and her 2 daughters) was found in a town right by where I live!!! This happened in 1989 and he was found in 1994! I was 10 so I don't remember it on the news but how weird!!! Only in Florida!!
Expensive Meals
Okay so Pete and I are going to dinner with his parents and grandparents on Friday night. We wanna try the new Outback Steakhouse that just opened in Basildon. Pete's Nan went by there today and got a menu - the average price is like £15 for a steak grrr. Its only about $12 at home - I even tried to go on the Outback UK website to look at the prices but they conveniently don't have the prices on the menu - but the food looks the same as in the US Hmph - guess we'll see on Friday night.
I finally redid the index page of my website - to a summery feel again and added an Engagement page that isn't 100% done yet oh well. ANyway stomach is feeling crap so I best be off here!
Feeling Better
Well at about 3pm I finally started to feel human again, so at least now I'm dpressed and up, even if my only movement is around the house. Only a few more days and then I head home :( I'm ready to go home, definitely, but I really wish Pete was coming with me as I really REALLY don't want to have to leave him again - and go back to the dreadful LDR mode. I think the more we think about it the more Florida seems to be the best home for us in the end...can't say particularly what specifically has changed my mind - other than Pete's sudden change of heart a few months ago. But its not like we'l never come back to visit, or even maybe someday consider living here again but not anytime in tne near future - as the practical things just seem to be easier to sort out in the US like house, jobs, driving, and bringing up kids. And after going to Amsterdam we really don't think we'll be travelling around Europe again anytime soon. I don't think it I have ever felt more proud to be an American and live in American until the way back from Amsterdam. And no I@m not getting super patriotic (ahem Sara - so don't have a cow!) Just saying I appreciate my country a lot more I guess.
Hmmm I'm in Wedding mood - looking at dresses and having daydreams of the 'big day' even though in a way I feel way too young to get married at the moment - hmmmm I can't make up my mind I know! Anyway I'm watching 4 Weedings and a Funeral so I'll get off here and relax ;)
As my Imood says I feel CRAMPY!!! UGH! It all began about 6am this morning... I really don't think I've ever had cramps this bad in my life ugh! I feel a bit better now - obviously as I'm on here. I uploaded the Amsterdam pics to my MSN group if anyone wants to see them and is a member. Anyway going to lay down again before I get worse. Bye! Pete's at work today so I'm just going to take it easy and relax.
Monday, July 28, 2003
Morning. Well we got back from Amsterdam yesterday at 5am - so needless to say we did nothing yesterday as we were exhausted. We had a pretty good time, the worst part was the trip there and back - 10 hours each way on a coach (chartered bus) and ferry. We got the coach at about 12:30AM on Saturday morning, I had a nap before we left the house but I really didn't want ot get up to go ugh. At 4:30am we got on the ferry in Dover, which we were on for an hour and a a half, which brought us to Calais (sp?) France. From there we got back on the coach and drive through France and Belgium I think and then we got to Holland, and finally to Amsterdam at 10:15am (GMT time.)
We had 10 hours free time in the city. First we went into a bookshop and got a map of the city and then walked around trying to find a place for me to go to the bathroom - which was a chore in itself ugh, the people were so rude,, but finally we found a decent person that let me use a bathroom in a bar/cafe place. Then we spent a few hours being rally lost looking for Anne Frank's House - we finally found it at around noon! (It was the only thing I really wanted to see there.) By the time we waiting in the queue to get in and looked around it was about 2pm. Then we walked around a bit and found a KFC to eat in, it was really expensive though about 18 Euros for our meal! We took our time there and rested a bit, so by the time we were ready to see the museums they were just about to close! So we eneded up taking a boat tour on the canals which was really nice. Then after a lot more walking and resting we got back on the coach and headed back home. ANyway I'll upload the pics to my MSN group soon - best be off for now as Pete's off today so I want to spend a lot of time with him :)
you smell like butt
congratulations. you are the "you smell like
butt" bunny. your brutally honest and
always say whats on your mind.
which happy bunny are you?
brought to you by Quizilla
Hmm interesting. Well I finished Mr.Maybe by Jane Green about an hour or so ago...which means I have no more books ugh - might pick up another 2 for £10 on friday (to read on the coach and ferry on the way to and from AMsterdam and on dreaded plane home :( I dunno this time I'm not too incredibly depressed about going home - I mean I'm not jumping for joy at the thought of leavng Pete (yet again - this is the 8th time we will part), but since we are now engaged it seems like we're at least heading for a goal in the future. Hmph plus I'm totally bored here when Pete isn't here and some of the time when he is home. I guess I'm just used to having tons of crap to do that when I have nothing really to do I get bored easily (hence the reading of 2 books in less than 2 weeks.) It'll be interesting being home with an engagement ring on my finger, and I have a very girly inclination to show it off to all my friends, and when college starts again in Sept to all my friends there hehe. Okay I just like the attention it brings I guess hehe. WEll not too much up for today... I did 3 miles yesterday - so today my back hurts :( I might do 2 miles today if that - not sure see how I feel later.
Monday, July 21, 2003
Good Afternoon. I feel lazy/tired. I got up with Pete early this morning, then he left for work and I had some toast and watched some morning TV... then around 11am I laid down for a little while, next thing I know its 2:45pm ummm guess I was tired hehe. Then my mom called and we chatted a bit. More bad news - a friend of Pete's mum's had a car accident on friday afternoon I think... they were going up to Scotland for a wedding, and in Ledds they got hit by a lorry (big truck) and they're daughter (in her mid 20's I think) was thrown from the car and isn't expected to live much longer, her cousin was killed on the scene :( They say death comes in three's - this past week it really did (as Pete's dad's uncle also died earlier in the week - a few days after Pete's uncle.) So we're all very depressed about death lately - so sad. Well I'm being lazy today ugh just don't have any energy - hopefully I will by Friday night (as we get the coach in the highstreet at a bit after midnight to goto Amsterdam.)
Saturday, July 19, 2003
Morning. Yesterday Pete and I went to London, we didn't leave until about noon because we were watching Family Exchange - I'd been watyching it the whole week and Pete had seen the one on Thurs so we wanted to see the last one. I hope its on next week too hehe. Anyway we went to Shakespeare's Globe... it was neat but the 'guided' tour was a bit crap for £8 each. Good think we went in the summer though as we got to see the actors rehearse a bit - which was the only worthwhile part of the tour. Pete said we could go back and see a play there next tiem I'm over in the summer - as the ones playing now aren't very good. WE had Starbucks Caramel Frappacinos and sat by the Thames (pronounced 'tims') a bit, as we couldn't get into the Globe with the drinks hehe. Then we went on the tube to Victoria and had lunch/dinner at Pizza Hut ;) Anyway thats about it for now. Bye.
Wednesday, July 16, 2003
Blah blah. Nt much to report on - grrr boredom! Pete should be home in less than an hour ;) I'm more than 2/3 of the way done with Babyville...its pretty good makes me think about not ever wanting to have a baby. Ok thats not true I want to have kids - just not any time soon. Hmmm. On Monday Pete was Mr Popular - he was asked out once at work and then again on the bus on the way home - grrr hehe. Makes me realize how lucky I am to have him ;) Ummm I added pics to my MSN group yesterday a few cute ones - none of us though - we need to get some pics of us together before I leave. Grrr been thinking about how much time I have lefthere and how much I want to and don't want to leave ugh. Anyyway thats about it fore now - bye bye.
Who's going to Amsterdam ???!!!! We are!!!! As you know I've been really bored here. I was talking to Pete's mum last night about it - she had a look in the paper and found a day trip thing to Amsterdam for £28 each and 10 hours free time in Amsterdam. So she phoned up and I gave her my credit card and she booked it for us. The coach leaves at around midnight on Friday the 25th and we get back sometime Sunday I guess. Anyway I'm excited - going to look at stuff to do with our 10 hours in Amsterdam :) I got an engagement card from my great Aunt Mary with a sweet note and a check for $100 :) Anyway going off to blog hop and surf for things to do in Amsterdam ;)
Presents Galore!
Gotta love this engagement stuff - you get a ring and pressies yay! Pete's mum just got back from doing Jan's hair (neighbor next-door-but one) and she and her husband got us a set of kitchen knives and scissors hehe looks like our kitchen items are coming together all we need now is a kitchen (and house) to put them in ! hehe. Pete also got his bday present to himself through the post today - a game called Steel Battalion - which has this 2ft controller thing - ugh hehe. Best be off he's unwrapping it now ;)
Hello. As I've adapted my title to my 'Essex Experience' I might as well posts about my experience. This is my 5th time coming here, every time it changes. This is the first time that Pete has had to work full days with me here (except for the holiday time he got off - this week he's off Thurs and Friday.) I feel rather housewife-ish. Which I'm not sure I like very much hehe (no offense to house wives - its just not my thing) - but in another way I like it. I'm sure I would like ti more if Pete and I had our own place, not that I don't love Pete's parents house but its not 'ours' and a feel a bit weird doing too much around the house. I do hand up and take down the washing from the line. Like most Americans, I have a drier at home, we used to have a line outside and would air-dry our clothes when I was little. I always loved it, and doing it here has been nice and rather quaint/domestic. Other than house work - I'm not up to much when Pete's at work. Usually when Pete's not working we're watching the telly or DVD's and having gone shopping a few times (which usually ends up resulting in us having no money left lol.) Yesterday we went to the park around the back from Pete's house and brought the football (soccer ball) and kicked it around a bit. There was a basketball hoop screwed to the cement fall that we were kicking the ball against - only the hoop and it was rather old (I know it was there two years ago when I was last here for the summer.) We ended up trying to use the football as a basket ball and only a made a few shots. Pete has an old basket ball so we decided to come back home and pump it up and go back and play a bit - it sucked though as its about 10 years old hehe.
This morning I watched BBC One for a few hours, which I love. Then I did my WATP for Abs 3 mile walk, took in the washing from the line, took a shower, got dressed, put the other washing up outside then went to into town. I got Babyville and Mr. Maybe both by Jane Green. I actually saw Babyville in the St.Louis airport on my stop over there but it was $20 so I didn't get it. I only got Mr. Maybe because WH Smiths was having a special on a lot of their books - 2 for £10 - and after about half an hour of looking I decided on that one. Actually when I was there an older woman (about 50-60ish) was looking at bookes and having the same problem as me - finding another one as there were so many. She recommended a book to me...I dunno if she realized by my 'accent' that I was American but she didn't mention it and neither did I. I then wnet to the grovery store and got some more Posh Noodles (yummy) and a few more bits.
I have a few pics from the BBQ but I couldn't add them to my MSN Group earlier bc Pete's dad's comp was being a pain. Grrr. Thanks for the Tags about Pete's uncle - he actually lives in Australia and has so for about 20 years I guess so Pete's barely remembers him and was mainly upset for his dad's sake as he was the closest brother to Pete's dad (he has a total of 5 brothers and one sister.) Anyway Pete's dad isn't religious or anything so I doublt there will be a memorial service here - as the funeral is in Australia. In more brighter news - Pete and I got a little pressie from Pete's Nan - its a little framed thing of Chinese writing and it says something about love (she ccouldn't remember the exact wording) and at the bottom is says 'Love' and under it says 'Peter & Julie' (she wanted it the other way around but they did it that way.) I just got it a few mins ago from Pete's mum so it'll be nice to show Pete when he gets in. Well best be off !
Post from last night - lets see if it'll post
Evening. I'm tired. Bit of bad news - seems Pete's uncle has died :( He's been ill for about 3 years now (as I remembver it was during my first time here when they found it he was ill.) Pete's dad has been on the phone a lot with his family today.
In more brighter news - the BBQ was a success and fun hehe. I got some cute pics - everyone hasn't gone home yet but we're tired so we just came in Pete's room.
Yesterday we went to Lakeside. We got our bear we made in January some new clothes at The Bear Factory hehe. Our scruffy got a new jumper/sweater which is red and has the union jack on it and navy blue trousers :) I also got Sara a present hehe (all I can say is fcuk!) She better like it as a paid a pretty penny for it - well 2500 in fact!! (£'S) We got lunch at Quizno's (which i didn't know they had in the UK) it was yummy! Later I got a Starbuck's Caramel Frappacino...they asked me if I wanted a "cream base" or a "coffee base" - as I am one for cream I decided on the cream base - so the frappacino was more like a milkshake but yummy none-the-less. We spent a lot of Pete's wages yesterday and a good percentage of my money so we're a bit broke ugh. Anyway I'm tired so I best get off here. Goodnight!
Morning. I really should jump in the shower but I came on here ;) We're having a BBQ today and its actually sunny!! woohoo. Yesterday was Pete's mum's bday. We got her a Me to You bear card and Gosford Park on DVD - as she said she wanted to see it. Of course yesterday she went down to the pub with her friends hehe. I think we were asleep by the time they all came back hehe.
I've been messing around with PSP and am working on an engagement announcement for my homeage I guess. I should finish it up sometime on Monday. I was going to put up something here I made but Lycos is being a pain grrr. Well best be off here and shower.
Wednesday, July 09, 2003
Hi hi. Not too much to report on today. Its 'hot' here in England today - well as hot as England can get really I guess. Which means pale english skin is being exposed to the daylight...for example Pete's dad has the day off today I guess and is doing some gardening shirtless so that his pale chest can get bright red hehe. It feels nice to me - though I have to admit I did get a bit sweaty walking home from the highstreet with some groceries earlier, but its definitely not my definition of hot as I have spent most of my life in Florida and am not too keen on returning in August - the hottest month of the year hmph.
Pete should be home in about a hour :) I feel reather homely/wifely - I washed the sheets on the bed today and then hung them out to dry in the sunshine. I just brought them in and am half way done making the bed. I slept til late today - about 11am...I felt achy and pretty sick this morning but am okay now. On monday Pete and I bought his mum a present for her bday on Friday :) She's having a BBQ this weekend which will be fun - it'll probably rain but thats what is expected from an english bbq hehe. I got some sweet and sour Posh Noddles (from the makers of Pot Noodles only they're 'posh') I had those they were good :) When I was in town I stopped in Choice - which is like a discount store for NEXT merchandise - some cute things in there but I didn't see anything I really liked. Anyway best make the rest of the bed - Pete's off the rest of the week yay :)
Tuesday, July 08, 2003
Oooo I forgot to mention I got PSP 7 yesterday at GAME for £20. It was originally £40 but was 50% off woo-hoo. Guess its not such a great price with the conversion rate but oh well. I wanted to install it on Pete's comp but it sounded as if it was going to take off into outer space with the weird noises it was making so I cancelled that - piece of crap comp grrr.
All on my lonesome
The rest of the family is at work hehe - meaning Pete and his parents. So here I am with the house to myself and I don't mind it. Pete should be home by just after 6pm :)
Yesterday we went to Basildon again for some shopping as my money came through - all £140 ugh damn conversion rate! I had like $250 grrr. Anyway now I only have £80 left ugh. I got two tops at NEXT - which I can't find on their website. One is a white tshirt with the union jack flag on it but the flag is in floral print which is neat. The other one is a black v-neck top with tan embroidering around the neck and at the bottom of the 3/4 length sleeves. I might actually exchange the black top for a size larger as the embroidering at the sleeves makes them a bit tight around my wrist area. Pete got me the Original Brown Me to You bear ;)
We went to KFC and also bought some Thank you cards for everyone who sent us an engagement card :) Though when we came home and opened the thankyou cards they weren't really cards but rather just decorated pieces of cardboard - in other words they didn't open. They just say Thank you on the top with silver and white stars around a white box where you have to write the note in. Grrr not what I wanted but oh well. I did my 3 mile WATP for Abs today - felt good I guess. Then I ended up showering and walking down to the highstreet to get Pete's parents a proper thank you card. Hehe. I have a bit of a card dilemma...I haven't done a card yet for Pete's parents and grandparents because I don't know if I should address it to them as "Mum and Dad" and "Nan and Granddad" or by their first names which I call them...since the card is from both of us. I might just get Pete to do those and I'll sign my name, hehe its weird changing what you call people ;)
I found a cute engagement page set at Terri Lynn Graphics that I'll use for my engagement page...for some reason Yahoo pagebuilder won't open on this computer hmph.
Oooo I also added more pics to our MSN group from the past week or so and approved Heidi to join our group :) Well thats about it for now. I think I might try pagebuilder again and do some tidying up for Pete's mum :)
Sunday, July 06, 2003
Hi - just a quick question. Does anyone know of any cute engagment adoptions or graphics ? I want to make an engagement page for my homepage soon and I want something different :) Thanks for any suggestions!
Feel all Grown Up
Awww Pete and I got back from his friend's and Pete's parents got us an engagement present ;) It was really big and heavy and we had no ideas what it was. Pete said I should open it while he opened that card hehe. I unwrapped it and it was a 44 Piece Cutlery set!!! It has like 6 of every spoon, fork and knife known to man! Very posh hehe. I felt shocked opening it - like the whole engagement/wedding/marriage thing is official hehe. As Pete's mum said it's our first household item - and as I replied "now all we need is a household!" hehe. We're getting Thank You cards tomorrow for everyone who has sent us a card and of course for Pete's parents for being so great and getting us such a lovely present!
Bored in Essex
I've been here little over a week and now I'm bored out of my mind. Don't get me wrong - I love being with Pete and just hanging out with him but I wish there was more we could do that didn't cost a fortune and was relatively close to here. I can hear the voices in my head saying "Why don't you go to London ? " Hmph thing is theres not too much to do in London that we haven't done already (this being my 5th time here.) Plus its £10 each for the travel card to get there, back and ride the tube around during the day. The fact of the matter is there is NOTHING worth doing in Essex - that doesn't include drinking all night and puking your brains out (which Pete and I are not into.) So here I sit at Pete's friend's house while he plays video games which he could do at home but we just needed to get out of the house. My money should go through Pete's bank by tomorrow hopefully (I had to convert it and it took a few business days to go through - why ? I have no idea.) If it does come in tomorrow we're going back to Basildon town centre/mall for some shopping :) I saw a lot of cute tops in NEXT the last time we were there :)
Haha little Essex joke for everyone ( I doubt anyone who hasn't lived in Essex will undertstand it but here it goes..)
What's an Essex girl's favo(u)rite wine ?
Answer: "Can we go to Lakeside?" (Lakeside is the closest big mall around - which we might go to on Friday.)
Hmmmm thus the boredom continues... Pete will be working on Tues and Weds this week so I might just hang around or go to the highstreet... maybe do my Walk Away the Pounds for Abs then. I haven't done it since I've been here - though we have been walking a lot as Pete doesn't have a car ;)
Happy 4th of July
Because Pete's bday is the day before America's independence day, I have only been in the US for once 4th of July since 1999 Ooops hehe. Not that I'm not proud of my country, I'm just not really an overly patriotic person - I was actually going to bring this little American flag door hanger pillow to put on Pete's door for today buy I forgot to pack it. Hmph. I know I need to take the little June angel off the right side and add the July one but I seemed to have forgotten my username for lycos grrr.
Thanks for all the bday wished for Pete :) He had a good day. I got him this ring and a Battle of Britain DVD from a local shope here. We went to Basildon (nearby town centre/mall), there wer had some KFC ( I had the Zinger twister which they don't have in the US - it was good but I prefer the orginial twister.) Then we went to go see Anger Management at the local cinema. Its rather new out here and its the one of the few that both of us wanted to see and that I hadn't seen - it was really funny! Then we came back home and ordered chinese yummy!
Last night on the phone I also told my mom that Pete and I are engaged ;) It was really funny and she was all happy for us and immediately told my dad - I thought that she would wait until after I got off the phone to tell him but she didn't hehe. He got on the phone and was very sweet. :) SO now she has been spreading the news hehe. She also mentioned about us going out for a great wedding dress hehe though it will be a rather long engagement (probably about 3 years.) Thene she phoned up close to midnight and we were sleeping, but I got up and answered it as I thought it might be her or my sister. She wanted Pete's address (which I know she has somewhere.)
This morning we got up early to go to the dentist (Pete had an appt for a check up.) One of the recpetionists actually lives next-door-but-one (hehe I love that phrase) to Pete's parents and is a friends of the family so we had a chat with her and she introduced me to the other receptionists as "Julie from America." Hehe. After that we shopped around the town and I got a new assignment/calender book (UK diary) at WH Smiths ( I LOVE that store!) Its pink and has little cows on it and says "Mad" on it hehe. We also got some drinks and "American style cookies" hehe. Its funny how "american" food is always labelled as such with stars and stripes on the front hehe. Well thats about i for now. BTW I approved those who applied to join my msn group :)
Another quick note - I took a few better pics of my ring and added them to my MSN group which you can join here :) Awww today Pete and I got two Engagment cards - one from his grandparents and another from a friend of the family. We're thinking about having a little engagement party soon so I shall take pics of that if it happens. Tomorrow is Pete's bday so we'll probably go to the movies and then order in chinese or something. He's in the living room watching is fav programme which is over now so I best be off to cuddle him as he's feeling crappy ;(
