Tangent Alert...

Not only is NBC doing a rip off of THE OFFICE - well I wasn't very impressed with it to begin with but still. But now they're ripping off Fever Pitch, a movie that came out in 1997 (thank you Scene It champion me)! It's a movie from the book by Nick Hornby. Well now the US version is coming out on April 8th: Fever Pitch rip off. Sorry its just lame...we're INDEPENDENT apparently but can America come up with its own ideas for TV and movies? Nope.

Ohhh, that baseball movie is based on the football / soccer movie? Weird. I can see why the football thing wouldn't work over here, but you'd think movie people could come up with their own idea for a baseball movie.

I'm kinda interested to see The Office. I never saw the UK version. Ben saw a small section and didn't like it. It was on, but I wasn't paying attention. Didn't it win awards & such in the UK? From the previews the US version looks funny. I'm wondering how close to the British script it is. I think 'Coupling' might have died because it was too close to the British script. So maybe NBC Americanized this one a bit more - it looked like they had from the one preview, about the sterotypes of skin colour & sports.

hey that Fever Pitch looks cute! (both versions!~ I'd like to see the Colin Firth version!) I thought The Office was a play off of "Office Space" but then again, I only saw one commercial and didn't pay much attention. I wish I had seen the US version of "Coupling" just to give some kind of input because I loved the British version (I got to see the 1st season on DVD) I wonder if I can find the Colin Firth version at Blockbuster.... hmmm... Anyway, it doesn't surprise me that we rip off their ideas anyway.

I saw Fever Pitch (1997) at Blockbuster back in 2001 maybe? The cover is different though...I think the new version is really loosely based on the first one, the main character is a school teacher and kinda resembles Colin in a way.

I thought the Office was a lot like Office Space, but I never really saw much of the UK version of the Office and didn't really like what I did see. I'm recording Coupling on BBC America at the moment hehe.

The Office is fantastic - I loved the Christmas specials they did a couple of years ago, real tearjerkers and very funny once you get into it!!(I hated it at first but after watching a few episodes, it gets better) Not sure I'd want to see a US remake of it though......
Anyway, have a great Easter, Juls

A ÁGUA
Meus senhores eu sou a água
que lava a cara, que lava os olhos
que lava a rata e os entrefolhos
que lava a nabiça e os agriões
que lava a piça e os colhões
que lava as damas e o que está vago
pois lava as mamas e por onde cago.
Meus senhores aqui está a água
que rega a salsa e o rabanete
que lava a língua a quem faz minete
que lava o chibo mesmo da rasca
tira o cheiro a bacalhau da lasca
que bebe o homem que bebe o cão
que lava a cona e o berbigão
Meus senhores aqui está a água
que lava os olhos e os grelinhos
que lava a cona e os paninhos
que lava o sangue das grandes lutas
que lava sérias e lava putas
apaga o lume e o borralho
e que lava as guelras ao caralho
Meus senhores aqui está a água
que rega as rosas e os manjericos
que lava o bidé, lava penicos
tira mau cheiro das algibeiras
dá de beber às fressureiras
lava a tromba a qualquer fantoche e
lava a boca depois de um broche.

Aproveita a água!

Um feliz Purim
